Annabelle's pov

I just kinda sat there in stunned silence for a second. I couldn't believe it.
"So do you guys, like, express that publicly around here?"

"Yeah, people here are pretty accepting of things like that. Heck we're far from the weirdest couple. That award goes to Sally Accachalla, we're going to her place now, and her boyfriend Slenderman."

"I thought he was a myth?"

"Not around here. This town is pretty weird, especially the Accachalla family. Sally has a pet Allosaurus named Freddie, Billy has a stalker named Maddie-Friend,"

"Met her. Came in through my window looking for Billy. Said he was her boyfriend."

"She thinks he is. Their mom Gertrude has Queen Elsa for a mother, Papa Accachalla was in a gang with his three brothers until they all became paranormal entities, oh, and Spencer is a some kinda other dimensional being that may be a minor god. He lives in the basement."

I just kinda stared out the window.
"So you guys and the Accachallas are the weirdest things. Right?"

"Mostly," he said, playing absentmindedly with the stings of his hoodie, which he made sure to put on before we left. "Otherwise there's just the Creepypastas and the siblings who run the town. They're the weirdest. Their names are Jordan, Cierra, Bethany, and Isaac, but everyone calls them Venturian, ImmortalKyodai, BethanyFrye, and HomelessGoomba. They pretty much just keep everything running as close to normal as possible."

Well now Spooker being a ghost was far from being the weirdest thing I'd heard today. I was about to ask more when Johnny pulled up to a large house. It was about three stories high and had a huge yard. We hopped out of the Totally-Legit-White-Van and went to the door with our equipment. As Johnny knocked I positioned my new bat high on my shoulder and adjusted my jacket. The door was opened by a kind looking woman with red hair pulled into a bun and a bright green sweater with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. At her side hung a shiny crowbar.

"Oh hey Ghost. Who's this?"
She motioned to me.

"This is Annabelle. She's new."
While in the car he had been Smiling and blushing, now he was all business.

"Oh I see. You have very pretty eyes."

"Thank you."
I usually tried to cover my odd colored eye with my hair so people could only see the green one, but I guess some gold was still visible.

"What seems to be the problem Gertrude?"
His voice was flat and devoid of emotion.

"Aimee."

"Got it. Annabelle you scan upstairs, I'll stay down here."

I nodded and took my ghost detector upstairs. I walked around until the little blip on the screen got close behind me. I turned around and was met with a ghost girl in a green and black dress with bright red hair.
What's with all the red heads in this town?

"Oh hello, are you a friend of Mr. Ghost man?"
She had a thick french accent.

"Yes I am. And you are a ghost, so I need you to leave."

"But-"

I swung the electric bat at her and it passed straight through. She screamed for a second then disappeared. I walked back downstairs and found Johnny.
"She's gone."

He looked up from the ghost detector.
"Then why am I still getting readings?"

I looked at my own device and saw the same thing, except this one was registering as a level ten demon.

"Gwegory!"
The voice was high and childish.

"Gertrude," Johnny yelled, "you guys need to run."

"Okay. Kids! Get in the car! We're gonna go visit your father at work!"

"Yay!"
Two teenagers with high voices rushed by. The boy was in a medic outfit and the girl had what looked like six waffles shoved in her mouth.

After they left I looked at Johnny.
"What was that about."

"Things are about to get very.... stabby."

"Gwegory!"
