Toast's pov

While I was telling my story the others all sat quietly. Miss Annabelle was texting someone but she wouldn't tell me who. She just said it was someone important, and that Maxwell should stick around.

When we got to headquarters a car was parked outside. On the hood sat a girl about Miss Annabelle's age. She had short dark brown hair and was wearing a Kingdom Hearts shirt and jeans. Annabelle quickly parked the car and got out, embracing the girl and refusing to let go until the rest of us walked up.

She pulled away blushing.
"Guys this is Ebony, my girlfriend from back home."

The other girl was blushing just as hard. Then pulled a serious face.
"As much as I want this to just be a friendly visit, you know why I'm here."

Maxwell spoke up.
"Already?"

Ebony stared at him.
"Is that a ghost cowboy?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"I'd like to know that myself."
I unlocked the front door and motioned inside.
"Let's discuss it."

We sat around the kitchen table. Gregory now gagged so he would stop calling for Cardboard Friend.

"Like I said," Annabelle began, "I won't explain until Ghost is back."

I glanced at Gregory.
"Usually it wears off on its own, but until then why don't you explain to Miss Ebony what's happened up until now."

After she explained and Miss Ebony looked thoroughly freaked out Gregory was still there.
"Well," I said, "plan B it is."

I picked up my crossbow and shot Gregory with it. The girls stared at me. It took me a second to understand why.
"Give him a minute. He'll be back."

They looked back over and saw that Gregory was gone. I chuckled a bit at their surprise. There was a loud thump from down the hall in Sir's room. He came stomping down the hall.

"Johnny Toast why did I just come back from the dead?"

"You had another episode Sir."

"Oh."
He looked at the girls.
"Why do you guys look like you saw a ghost?"
He looked at Maxwell.
"And why is a actual ghost here?"

"Well Sir, I don't believe they've seen anyone come back from the dead before. And about Maxwell, Miss Annabelle was just about to explain."

"So are we not going to talk about how you just murdered your boyfriend?"

"How did you know that?"

"I told her."

"Oh. Anyway, some people can do it, some can't. We don't know why. Now please explain."

"Alright, alright."
She filled us in on how her father treated her brother and her. How he abused them and what effect that had on her. The most terrifying part was when she told us what she planned to do once her father made it to town.

"Maxwell and I are gonna kill him. And Maxwell said you guys would help."
