I can't

IGNIS's POV

"Baby?" I said shaking her

No movement

"Storm" I said

I noticed she was no longer breathing

"STORM, PLEASE WAKE UP" I began to shout

I kept trying to shake her awake

"Storm please" I said crying even harder now

"I can't live without you, please Storm don't do this to me" I said

"Gladeo grab him" the king said

Gladeo came over to me, I looked into his eyes and he was also crying. He grabbed me and pulled me away from her, I had no energy to fight back. I stared at her body lying limp on the table, she was covered in blood. Once we were out of the room he dragged me to my room and set me down on my bed. I looked down and I was also covered in her blood. No more tears fell down, I couldn't feel anything, I just lost everything I love.

"I am so sorry Ignis, I know this is tough" the king said

I kept quiet

"I promise you we will have a proper burial for her and the baby" he said

I turned away from the king and laid down on the bed.

The next few days went by slow, I didn't come out of my room and everyone left me alone. I didn't eat and I hardly drank anything. all I could do was sleep and cry.

Gladeo came into my room and began going through my dresser, I didn't bother asking him why he was doing it because I knew exactly why he did it, it was Storm's funeral and he was getting clothes for me. He threw the clothes at me and told me to get dressed. I didn't move.

"Ignis, I know this is tough but its for Storm, you need to get up and say your goodbyes, its what she would have wanted" Gladeo said

"I don't know if I can" I said

"Do it for her" he said 

He left me alone, I got dressed and left my room. The King was waiting for me so we walked to the throne room where the ceremony was being held. We took our seats and the king walked to the front of the coffin. He began a speech.

"I want to thank everyone of you for coming, unfortunately it was under some horrible circumstances. We are gathered here today to remember Storm, she was a wonderful human being, protector and friend, she was like a daughter to me. She treated everyone with respect and always put others first. She always did what she had to do to protect us even if that meant she was almost killed in the line of duty. She was a teacher and hunter. My son has learned so much from her and we can not thank her enough and we will never be able to. Unfortunately she was taken at a young age of 26, she died having complications with the birth of her and Ignis's child. Unfortunately the child did not make it either I have so much to say and so much I wish I told her before this, her spirit will always be with us and we will never forget her" he said

"Sir may I say a few words?" I asked

He nodded, I stood up and walked to his spot

"I don't really know how to begin, I remember when I first met her, I thought she was beautiful and smart, she was a tough girl and it was always funny watching her kick the crap out of Gladeo. She was an amazing woman and I fell in love with her. When we first kissed I was a happy man and I knew she was the one, heck I knew she was the one when I first met her. When I asked the king for permission I am not going to lie I thought we were going to get fired or in trouble. I loved her with every cell in my body. I wanted to protect her, the first time she almost died I thought I was going to lose her, I was so happy when she lived I thought I was never going to lose her. We both made a promise that no matter what the king would come first. but she lost her life not for saving the king but for having my baby. I was so happy when she told me she was pregnant. I was going to ask her to marry me after the baby was born. The king was right she was a lover, a friend, a hunter, and a fighter. If I could I would switch places with her but there is nothing we can do, I tried to save her. Storm I love you so much and always will, I hope the after life is much better then on this planet. I love you" I said

Gladeo and Prompto came up behind me and walked me back to my seat

They both had a speech

Six guardians grabbed her coffin and began to carry her to the plot, the king made a spot next to the water fountain, her favorite spot. They lowered her in and began to bury her in sand and will soon put tile over the spot. I got down on my knees and cried. The King put his hand on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry son" he said
