Bella's POV

It wasn't long before I'd reached the designated location, the medium house looking back at me. My sword rested on my side, my hood up, as I grew closer to the outside of the house my hand rested on the sword helm. Before I could make any move towards the house a noise sounded and the front door slung open. Out came the one person she didn't expect to see, her flaming red hair practically glowing in the sunlight.

Victoria.

For a second I felt my shield fall, the shock of seeing her again throwing me off.

Within that second Victoria's eyes darted towards me, sensing danger, her stance now tense. I know she couldn't see me, but the fact that my shield dropped meant she could sense me. I was safely hidden behind a set of trees, and at least my scent remained covered.

"Whoever's out there, show yourself!" Victoria growled out, her eyes remaining close to me. I couldn't give my cover away, instead, I could capture her and bring her to the Volturi. She had been on the list for quite a while, always evading them because of her power. However, they'd yet to send me after her, the reason being our past together. Aro was afraid I'd kill her before they could capture her. It was funny, but looking at her now I wanted nothing more than to bring her to them, I knew they'd make her life a living hell.

If I concentrated enough I could push my shield out, block Victoria in, and torch the house at the same time. What's that saying again? Oh right, I can kill two birds with one stone. Though I'd yet to master my shield completely, it was difficult to send it away from me, but not impossible.

Taking a deep breath I reached my mind out, looking for that wall that surrounded me. It took a moment but I soon found it, the only thing left to do was push it away from myself. Easier said than done. It took a lot of focus, and even one break away would cause my shield to fall completely. However, in this case, I was willing to risk exposure. Breathing calmly I thrust forward, sending the shield flying towards Victoria, encasing her like a cocoon. It would keep her concealed away from the fire, though it wouldn't act in a similar manner as it does for me, merely becoming a block for her.

Once she was surrounded by it I reached my hands out, sending sparks of fire towards the house. It quickly caught ablaze, though my shield managed to keep it from spreading, and the smoke bounced off of it like a dome.

Victoria lashed out, punching and screaming as she pushed against my barrier. I yelled out, feeling my body wither as I fought for control over it all. Using my powers was taxing on me, mainly if I did it all at once, and maintaining my shield at the same time wasn't helping. A figure fleeing from the house caught my attention, causing an unwanted distraction. Within that moment my shield broke loose, though I was able to reel it in enough to stay covering me. The woods caught fire. the flames growing. Looking around I began to panic, I can't control the fire and catch Victoria. I sighed, Aro would not be pleased if I caused a stir and drew the attention of the authorities; even if they wouldn't get anywhere in their investigation. I was unsure how Victoria was linked to the vampire army in that house, but they were my priority, Victoria was nothing more than a side quest. However, if I can subdue her it would be easy to gain control over the flames.

I didn't have long to do it though, I could already hear the sounds of pounding against the forest floor, followed by an oddly sweet honey-like smell. I knew the shifters were headed here, though that sweet honey smell was new. Shaking my head I tried to ignore the impending danger and charged forward.

I grabbed Victoria and threw her to the ground. If I can just stop her from running I can end this assignment. I dropped my shield completely, knowing I couldn't focus on both. Victoria growled at seeing me, her nails digging into my hands.

"Hello, sweet Bella, come to kill me?" She spat mockingly, as she fought against me.

I ignored her, placing both hands on both her arms and managing to get her to stop moving. Victoria's growl echoed around her, her thrashing becoming more frantic. I knew if she kept this up she could throw me off, but my focus was on that fire. I reached out and felt the heat, concentrating on making the fire recceed into itself. I was confused as to why no one else ran, though I would have to track down that figure that got away. As the fire slowly began to shrink it exposed the now torn-down house, parts of it complete ash.

Eventually, the fire died down completely, allowing me to break my concentration and focus on the still-seething Victoria underneath me. Growling I heard the sound of footsteps, gasps, and tearing of the skin as the shifters came to the scene. I looked down at Victoria, trying to figure out a way to knock her out and return to Aro with her.

Her cover was blown, those surrounding her knowing who she was. The smell of wet dog greeted her, but that sweet honey smell was still there, but stronger now. It was odd. I wanted to look up but I knew that the shifters weren't the only ones who came to see what all the fuse was. No, I could sense them, the Cullens were watching me.

There was one way I could knock Victoria out, but it could take weeks for her to wake back up, maybe longer. Plus, my little audience may not be as agreeing with my methods. Switching hands I grabbed her neck and used my other hand to reach down to the sealth on my boot, pulling out my dagger. This would not be fun, at least for Victoria, for me, I grinned looking at her fear-stricken eyes, I would have too much fun.

I leaned down, making eye contact with her as the dagger came to rest against her neck, "This is gonna hurt, so scream for me okay?"

I smiled as I made a quick slash, my vampire strength making it easier to slice through the front of her neck. Her eyes stared back at me, next thing is to break it off completely, after all a dagger can only do so much.

It'll be quite painful, but, it'll reattach, I thought, readjusting my positioning to break the remaining skin away. I grinned, I guess the Volturi have changed me some, but this was the best part. I yanked with the hand now tangled in her hair, a sickening crunch following as her head popped off like a bottle cap, a laugh threatening to escape me. Oh, that sound, it was nasty but oh so sweet, poor Victoria would get to experience being turned all over again once I get back to the Kings.
