Alice's POV:

In that moments where Bella's lips connected with mine all previous thoughts vanished, my worry disipated, and all that was left was a feeling or lightness. It was somethings I'd never felt before, a hole I never knew I had began to feel full.

However, my first reaction wasn't to kiss back, a pring of worry appearing as soon as she had pushed towards me. I knew she felt something for me, I could see it in her eyes whenever she'd look at me, but it did little to dissuade my worry. Her reaction could've been pure instinct, a way to calm me down or to calm herself down.

Though, I wasn't able to dwell on one of these thoughts as Bella's normally tensed body relaxed against my own. She was an inch taller than me, meaning my positioning was a bit awkward at first, having been caught off guard by her actions. My arms instinctively wrapped around her neck, acting as an anchor as I pushed myself up on my toes to gain a better angle. I felt her arms snake around my waist in return, one hand resting a bit too low though I was more than happy in the current positioning.

A bang sounded, causing me to growl, hoping the moment wouldn't be ruined. However, Bella had pulled away the instance a noise sounded, her eyes looking like a deer in headlights as she stared at me. I reached out, realizing that her actions were indeed unintentional, my worry resurfaced. Before I could reach her she had darted away and disappeared out the front door.

My annoyance only increased whenever I realized where the bang had sounded from, Edwards's damned piano. He was standing there, leaning against the door frame, his face in a scowl.

"Oh, did I interrupt?" He asked, his eyes glaring into my own.

I growled at him, my lips pulling thin, "I'll only say this once, brother, either accept things how they are or deal with the consequences."

I didn't wait for a response, knowing if I did I would most likely end him. My mind was focused on finding Bella, and finding out what had gone wrong. The feeling she'd stirred up inside me was like fireworks exploding, I couldn't quite describe the beauty of it but I knew it was real.

Her scent was easy to track, but even so, I lagged behind some; I wasn't the fastest in my family and apparently Bella was faster than me.

The scene I came upon was both beautiful and demoralizing. She was sitting on a lone boulder, her hair flying in the wind as she stared out at a desolate ocean.

My steps were measured, not wanting to provoke her, but wanting her to know I had followed. She made no move to run which was reassuring. It felt like forever before I'd reached her, my body moving into her line of vision. Her eyes didn't linger on me as she looked back out behind me.

I sighed, crouching down to her height, "What is it?"

Her stance was tense, her eyes lingering before moving back to my own, "I'm sorry, I don't know why I did that, it just... something came over me."

I nodded, afraid that she had regretted it, "Don't be, it's okay."

Bella shook her head, "It's not though! I crossed a line-"

I laughed, unintentionally, her words stopping midsentence. I waved a hand, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it in a bad way. It's just... don't you know about mates?"

Her face read confusion, "No, not exactly. Edward never really explained it to me, at least not detailed, and the Volturi only taught me what I needed to know."

I gave a small smile, standing up I decided it would be more comfortable sitting by her, "What did he tell you exactly?"

She turned to me, one leg coming up to rest underneath her, "Not much, he said we were soulmates, like in those fairy tale stories."
