Just a Bit of Weather

Bella sighed for what felt the hundredth time, her patience wearing thin already. They'd finished packing quite fast after Emmett's little hunt in the woods, even Alice went as far as to give up her attempt at perfecting her folding and instead decided she could replace whatever it was that got left behind.

It was shocking to say the least, watching Alice leave so many clothes behind like she did but it could've been connected to her disdain for Emmett and her embarrassment at the whole situation. It was funny, to say the least, and a bit confusing considering Bella should be the shy one; Alice is probably the most outgoing individual in the family outside of Emmett. Seeing her act all shy though was something new, even Rosalie seemed a bit confused.

No one remarked on it though, at least not openly or within earshot of another, instead resorting to pushing Alice out of the plane to make sure she didn't have a chance to change her mind about her closet. Even Emmett just gave one of his signature grins whenever Bella gave him a confused look, his eyes practically twinkling with mirth. Edward, who'd been approached by Bella soon after Alice's dismay had found himself unforth coming with a response to any of their questioning glances because Alice had resorted to singing "If you're happy and you know it" over and over. After hearing the song for a second time Edward had excused himself until it was time to leave.

However, that wasn't what was bothering Bella. Nope. It was the fact they were currently on a plane. Yes. She is terrified of airplanes. As a human, she hated planes due to their proximity to people, never being able to afford anything other than coach left her at the mercy of a lot of kicking seats and crying babies. Now as a vampire, she has too much money to stress about something as simple as paying for first class, and her control over her bloodlust could parly with Carlisles. However, the issue wasn't money or proximity to humans. Nope. It was the worry of fire. Even as a vampire, she has to fear something as mediocre as a plane crash.

Alice chuckled at hearing Bella sigh again, her irritation clear at day, even though her attention was mostly focused on the window and the view of the plane wing.

"Aw, Bella, still scared of flying are we?"

Bella growled lowly under her breath, her attention remaining on the plane wing for a moment before sighing at hearing a responding laugh from none other than Emmett. He was a few seats away from them, choosing to sit closest to the restroom for some odd reason. Vampires don't need to use the restroom for anything other than freshening up if they so choose. Though after Jasper's playful joke about the mile-high club Bella found herself less than curious about Emmett's reasoning and resorted to simply choosing a seat away from his own. In the case where he and Rosalie decided to go play in the cramped stall, she'd at least have some type of distance, though with vampiric hearing it was almost impossible not to be guaranteed an earful of their less-than-innocent playtime.

Turning in her seat Bella made a show of glaring at Alice, before once more sighing; she was doing that a lot recently it seems, "You don't worry about the plane randomly bursting into flames?"

Alice went to respond but Edward, who was in the pair of chairs one ahead of their own, beat her to the punch, "Alice can see the future you know? She always checks the forecast and general future of the plane before we book it."

"Yeah, it prevents us from stressing about fire, like you Ms. Frankenstein." Joked Emmett, his sense of humor falling off deaf ears, "Oh come on, that was comedic!" Though upon gaining no response from anyone, besides a silent shake of the head from both Alice and Bella he comically threw his hands up and pouted, "You guys are so boring!"

A small hand grasped her own slightly bigger hand, and after successfully pulling said hand into her lap Alice gave Bella a gentle smile, "But, I do look into the future before we ever book any flights, mainly after the plane we were meant to be on but decided to take a boat had crashed over the Atlantic and straight into a freighter ship. No one survived it."

Accepting the reassurance Bella gave a nod, "No plane crashes in our future?"

Alice smiled, "No plane crashes."

Giving a smile back Bella consented, "I'll try not to worry as much."

"Good. Now we can enjoy the plane ride, after all, we still have a good hour or so left."

Raising an eyebrow Bella's lip twirked, "Oh yeah, and what do you have planned for fun?"

Alice smirked, her face growing closer as her eyes drifted down towards plump lips, "I have some ideas."

However, as they grew closer, Bella not so subtly licking her lips in anticipation Edward let out a groan, "Not you two too! I swear, everyone with anyone seems to only think about joining this damnable mile-high club."

Jolting away from one another Bella dared to snap back, "Aw is little Eddy jealous he doesn't have anyone to play with? I'm sure if you ask Jasper nice enough he might have enough sympathy for you to give you a hand."

Alice giggled, as Emmett's laughter reached a point where even some of the humans within proximity looked at him oddly. Edward, while unbeknownst to Alice or Bella was looking at Jasper in a new light, mainly due to his casual shrug in response to Bella's comment. He was intrigued to say the least, though Edward had never considered the prospect of him being with a guy; let alone Jasper. Mainly because they were both mateless and initiating a relationship with anyone who isn't their mate; while fun, it almost always ends painfully for both parties.

Bella gave a soft laugh as well, her focus split between her irritation with Edward and her desire to lean back in. However, she didn't get the chance to whenever the plane gave an uncomfortable lurch causing her stomach to roll. Glaring at Alice she gave a pointed look as another lurch jolted her in her seat. A moment later the stewardess was on the microphone announcing unpredicted weather complications and that everyone was to return to their seats and lock their seatbelts in. Alice chuckled, her hands maneuvering to fasten her belt with ease, her eyes gleaming as she looked back over to Bella who was fumbling with her own. Reaching over she quickly slapped Bella's hands away to replace them with her own, more precise, hands that made one smooth motion of locking the belt in. Glaring up into Alice's eyes she couldn't help the slouch in her shoulders.

"Aww Bella, it's just a little bad weather, if you'd even call it that."

Her eyes narrowed, "Alice," she said, voice hard, "The plane is shaking. I'd say it's some bad weather to shake a damn plane!"

Winging her hands together Alice chuckled, "True, but, to be fair, I said no plane crashes. I didn't say we wouldn't experience some turbulence."

Sighing Bella let her head fall back against the rather soft pillow, her chair lounging backwards with a push of a button, "Just, maybe next time give a warning."

Alice nodded, not that Bella could see it, her hand now beginning to cradle the one once again within her own, "Agreed."

After her rather curt response, Bella found herself giving a gentle smile in response, and even though her eyes remained closed Alice seemed to beam in response, glad to see that she had helped alleviate some of Bella's stress around plane rides. Even if it did take a rather angry glare to help her realize that a warning would've been appreciated.

All Bella hoped for was a nice and smooth plane ride, was that too much to ask for? Of course, it was, considering they are currently being pelted with snow and the plan has yet to calm down. Groaning Bella felt the desire to bang her head against something, anything to distract her from the continued turbulence. Observing her carefully Alice tightened her grip on the hand within her own and raised it to her lips, giving an encouraging kiss to the back of her palm as she attempted to offer as much comfort as possible.

"Don't worry, we'll be there soon and you can get your revenge on me, we will be surrounded by snow after all," joked Alice, her light-heartedness causing a grin to form on Bella's lips, even as her body remained tensed she allowed herself to envision beating up Alice with armfuls of snowballs. It helped her relax slightly, even going as far as opening her eyes a tad and glancing at Alice from the corner.

"You better be accepting of it too." She said, her voice light despite her stiff posture.

Grin widening Alice leaned forward slightly, "Now now, I'm not about to lay in the snow for you, even if I promise you to revenge you'll still have to work for it."

Smirking Bella eyed Alice, "Oh I plan to, and sweet revenge it'll be."
