Bella woke up the next day, and upon shuffling about with her hand quickly went from that dreamy-awake state to wide awake. Alice wasn't by her side anymore, causing her alarms to go haywire as she searched around only to pause in her frantic actions upon seeing a piece of paper on the nightstand that wasn't there before.

Reaching over and grabbing it Bella quickly read over the contents written.

"I didn't want to wake you but I figured it would be better to leave a note as opposed to just leaving. I've gone hunting, I won't be gone long. Afterward, we can spend some more time together. Away from the rest of the family."

Bella sighed, she was looking forward to waking up with Alice beside her. However, she could go talk to Carlisle about her assignment and hope he can help her.

Getting out of bed she let out a low groan as she stretched, hands reaching high up into the sky. Walking into her closet she grabbed her typical Volturi clothing, turning away from the weapons nearby and instead seetling on her signature dagger from its resting place. Once dressed, and dagger attached to her hip, she headed out of the house and in the direction of the Cullen's house.

Once their house came into view she wasted no time barging into the always unlocked front door. Esme was cooking in the kitchen, which caused her to pause on her journey towards Carlisle's office.

"You're cooking... why?"

Esme smiled up at her as she pulled a pan from the oven decorated with happy face cookies, "Oh Bella! I didn't think you'd be back so soon."

Bella smiled, Esme was always like a mom to her after all, "I'm here to talk to Carlisle, but smelled that stink and wondered what was going on."

She laughed as she sat the pan on the counter, right next to some icing and sprinkles, "Don't tell me you're going to complain like the rest."

Emmett's grumble could be heard from the other room, "We'd eat them if we could!"

Esme gave a sweet smile as she shook her head, "Anyways, I'm donating around 100 cookies to a homeless shelter in Seattle. Do you want to help me decorate them?"

Before Bella could answer a huge body shoved into her from behind, Emmett barging into the kitchen and already grabbing a tube of blue icing.

"Hell yes!"

Esme scolded as she glared at the tube of icing, "You better not draw inappropriate symbols like you did last time."

A noticeable twitch of the lips gave Emmett away, as he attempted to look innocent, "I'm not that immature!"

Clearing her throat Bella couldn't help but smile at the interaction in front of her, "Maybe after I talk to Carlisle, is he in his study?"

Esme nodded, eyes still glued on the already decorating Emmett, "Yes dear, you remember where it is right?"

Bella nodded as she started walking out of the kitchen, yelling over her shoulder, "Don't decorate all those cookies, save some for me!"

An echo of responses was heard as she headed up the stairs and down the hallway where she knocked on the door. Waiting a moment she could hear a low 'come in'.

Entering the room she was hit by a bookish smell, the kind from old historic books, it was nice; compared to the smell downstairs. Closing the door behind her she waited for him to look up from his writing, though that didn't take long.

He looked up at her entrance, "Oh, Bella! Do you need something?"

She nodded, gesturing to the seat in a silent request to sit, and upon his nodding she walked around and sat in the chair across from him, "Yes, I need to talk to you first, before I talk to the rest of the family."
