Megan's POV
I said my goodbyes at the airport and even shed a few tears. Drew kissed me goodbye and I felt an unfamiliar spark. It sucks I'd probably barley see him now. Hal told me she'd call me soon and I hugged her tight. I love Hal like my own little sister. I mean I love Jayden too but it's different especially since Jay's older than me a little. Her and Jayden don't look much alike. Haley looks more like her mom.
I boarded my flight and settled in. About halfway home I had a dark thought. Jayden reminded me of my mom. Actually she reminds me a lot of my mom. What if she wasn't just my best friend? What if she was my sister! That's crazy though. She has darker hair and all my siblings have the same sandy blonde. I'm losing it because I'm tired I bet. Yeah that's it I'm just tired.
I was woken up by the man next to me when we landed. I went and found my luggage then found my mom. She was happy to see me but when I looked at her the thoughts of Jayden returned. Maybe I wasn't crazy. They had similar face structure and the same nose. The only difference was the hair, and Jay's dad has dark hair so maybe she gets that from him. That would mean my mom cheated on my dad though.
Jayden's not quite a year older than me so I guess it's possible. I looked at my mom and she smiled at me with the same smile I see when Jayden smiles. That's it I have to know. How do you ask your mom that though! You can't just say hey Mom did you ever sleep with my best friends dad?
"Megan dear, what's wrong?" Mom asked. "You look like you've seen a ghost."
"Oh it's just Jayden's parents. They're getting divorced." I started. "Haley said her Dad was cheating."
"Doesn't surprise me one bit. That man is nothing but trouble. I've told Jayden's mom time and time again, but she just never listened." She shook her head.
"What makes him trouble Mom?" I asked as she walked toward the exit.
"Honey lets just say he's got more skeletons in his closet than he can afford. Now what do you want for dinner?" She changed subject.
I wasn't dropping it though. "Mom are Jayden and Haley really sisters?" I asked.
She stopped in her tracks and turned to face me. "Why would you ask me that?"
"Just answer me Mom." I said feeling the anticipation for what I've already figured out to be confirmed.
"Megan I think you need to calm down." Mom said.
"No tell me the truth! I figured it out didn't I! That's why you hated her dad and never wanted me to stay over. That's why you always like her so much and didn't mind her always staying over at our house. That's why Brian loved her so much! He knew didn't he? He knew she was our sister!" I was yelling now and people were staring at us.
"Megan I'm so sorry. It was a brief period of time after Brian was born. Your father and I had a rough patch and Mister Miller was nice and I just lost myself for one night. After that I found out I was pregnant." Tears formed in my mothers eyes but she continued. "I told him and he asked what I wanted from him, and at the time we were broke and I was on my own with Brian. I told him I'd have the baby but I didn't want it. Soon after that he called and told me his wife wanted the baby, because they'd been trying and she couldn't get pregnant." She said.
"So she knew about everything?" I asked.
"She did. I had Jayden and named her. Then when I was released from the hospital I signed over the parental rights to the Miller's. They took Jayden and I got back with your father. I told him and he excepted it. Soon after that I got pregnant with you." She said.
