Haley's POV
It's been four days since the accident. Jayden's still on unconscious and tomorrows the court appearance with my parents. I was on my way to the hospital from school with my dad and he looked exhausted. He's been burning it at both ends between work and sitting with my sister. They took her off life support yesterday and she's breathing regularly on her own now. It's improvement but everything's just moving slower than we'd hoped for.
"Is she awake yet?" I asked Dad as he pulled into the lot.
"Not yet. They said she should be awake in the next few days though because everything's starting to read normal." He said. "They're worried she might experience some slight brain damage though because she's been out so long."
"They said her brain wasn't swollen though." I said.
"It wasn't but she's been unconscious for almost five days." He said pulling into a parking place next to Wesley's car.
His car hasn't moved in days. He never leaves the room. Actually he probably wouldn't even eat if it wasn't for me and Dad forcing him to. "Has Wesley even went home?" I asked Dad.
"No, but his mom brought him some clothes today and he actually left to go eat and make a few phone calls." Dad said as though that was a huge feat.
"I think he still blames himself." I sighed.
"It's neither if your faults honey." Dad said patting my knee. "Lets go inside."
We went in and got our visitor badges then headed to Jayden's room on the critical care floor. I sighed seeing Wesley at her side asleep. He was sitting in a chair holding her hand and his head was laying on the bed. I walked over and smoothed Jayden's hair back. She looked like she was just sleeping.
It made me think back to when we were kids. She use to fake being asleep then sit up and scare me when I came in to wake her up. I felt a tear slid down my cheek and I wiped it away. I turned and my dad was in the hall on his phone. Probably arguing with my mother. Sadly she hadn't even come to visit Jay. She didn't even send flowers or anything.
That's when I saw her. Hanna was in the hall looking in at Jayden. I felt my anger shoot through the roof and I walked quickly into the hall and grabbed Hanna by her arm defiantly leaving a bruise. I walked her toward the elevator not even getting a second glance.
"Stay away from my sister!" I said letting her go and shoving her back a few steps.
She looked at me with tears in her eyes. "I came to say sorry. I'd heard she was still in the hospital, but I didn't realize she hadn't woken up yet."
"Don't fake cry for me you bitch. You're the reason she's in here! I can't speak for her but no matter what you say, I'll never forgive you." I spat.
"I just want," I cut her off.
"I could care less what you fucking want! I suggest you get in this elevator before you're in a room on this floor." I said.
She didn't say another word. Hanna just got In the elevator and was gone. I turned to see Wesley leaning in the doorway of my sisters room looking out at me. He shook his head at me but I could see him chuckling. These past four days I've actually gotten pretty close with Wesley since we both practically live here.
"Your dad went to pick up some forms for the divorce hearing." He said as I walked back to Jayden's room.
"Did you see what just happened in the hall?" I asked.
