Where am I? What happened? Joshua thought as he regained consciousness. His vision began to clear and he could barely see the figure of the faces looking at him. It has been a painful experience for him. Had he been in water for another minute, he would have died.
Then, his vision cleared, he suddenly recognized the faces of the people looking at him. The passengers including Emma and Rick.
Oh, that's nice. At least they're alright. He said to himself as he rested for a bit more time. His muscles were all sore due to the accident. Well, I should thank Rick. We would've been dead by now had it not been for him.
"Joshua, can you hear me? What's 37980 multiplied to 49032?" Rick asked him, worried.
"It's one-eight-six-two-two-three-five-three-sixty." Joshua weakly answered.
"Wow! What Emma said was right. You really are smart." Rick complimented.
Joshua managed to get up. His headache was still as worse as when he woke up. Emma quickly ran outside. Joshua looked around. He found himself inside a well-built hut. The room has a window on three sides and everything in it was wooden. Then he saw Emma, coming towards him with a bowl of water.
"So, what happened after I became unconscious? and where are we? Are we marooned or something?" Joshua asked after drinking the water.
"Nah, we're in England ! The truth shall set you free, brother!" Rick lightheartedly answered.
"After you fainted, well, we don't actually know exactly what had happened. We fainted as well, or I might say, we fainted even before you did. Thanks by the way, for bringing Rick and I to the surface. Good thing the passengers of the plane found us and helped us. Someone actually saw you struggling towards the surface while pulling us. They said that you were able to reach the surface just in the nick of time. Fancy you could hold your breath for that long! Well, anyway, since we crashed near the shores, the townspeople quickly sent their boats in order to rescue us. By the time we woke up, we're already living in this hut. The passengers each went to their own ways so it'd be hard finding them and asking questions. As far as I know, that's what happened." Emma said.
"You're welcome, but I'd thank him more, you know." Joshua said, pointing at Rick." By the way, how's your shoulders? Did it come off or something?" He asked Rick.
"Nah, that was nothing. Actually, I kinda tore some of my muscles. I can't even raise my hand. But my grip's still as good as ever...hehe" Rick answered.
""That's good to hear. But when I saw you held on while the water pressure came down at us, I thought for a second that you weren't human." Joshua smiled.
"I'm not, I'm a mutant, but you could call me a superhuman if you want." Rick said.
Suddenly, an elderly woman entered the room. She looks like a British woman in her seventies. When she looked at Joshua, she smiled.
"You're finally awake." She told him.
Joshua was surprised to see her."Thank you for letting us lodge at your place, ma'am." He finally said.
"I actually saw the plane crash from here. It was a miracle that no one was killed in that accident. Well, just take your time to recover. I've been living alone in this house for decades. A little company won't hurt, would it?" She said, smiling at each of them."Well, if you feel like you can already eat, come downstairs to the living room. Dinner's almost ready."
Wow, this house is even better than I imagined. It has two floors and its wooden! Joshua thought.
"Le's go. Oh, we forgot to tell you, you've been asleep for two days." Rick told Joshua.
