A few months had passed since the incident of the P.U.L.L. Everybody's lives returned to normal once again since all of them had returned to Oklahoma City. The Quiller Family moved to Oklahoma as well, for everyone's convenience. Mr. Quiller also made their corporation up and running once again and assigned Emma's uncle to supervise all the workers there.
Joshua walked out as the sun began to peek from the horizon. A subtle breeze whiffed his hair as he trudged past their gate. He looked upwards, remembering the time when he had jumped off from their second floor window using his bike. It all seems long ago now, but the events kept on repeating in his mind all because of his photographic memory.
"Good morning, Joshua!" Gladiola, Emma, and Rick greeted.
After greeting them in return, the four of them headed to school, like it's just another morning. Rick was always reminded of the time when he ducked under his desk as he shouted earthquake on the top of his lungs. Emma, on the other hand, was always reminded of her chance encounter with Joshua and Rick.
"It's finally starting today, huh." Rick said out of the blue. "The five kilometer race, I mean."
"Yeah, last time you were the one who won by a hair's breadth." Joshua responded, smiling. "Let's see who wins this time."
"You already broke the world record the last time, shouldn't you lie low for now?" Gladiola asked. "I mean, someone might get suspicious."
"Nah, don't mind them." Emma told Gladiola. "I'll win this time."
"Bring it on, Emma!" Rick and Joshua challenged.
