"Joshua! Gladiola! Hang in there!" Emma exclaimed from afar as she tried to escape from her binds. "Just hang in there for a little bit longer!"
Emma could clearly see that Gladiola was crying while Joshua's in a daze. She didn't know what had happened as soon as they got attached to the power-source but she knew something was wrong. Both Rick and her struggled to escape but to no avail, all that they could do was watch as the mastermind's plans unfold before them.
"At last!" The mastermind exclaimed while raising both his hands in the air. "My plan is finally reaching its final stages! And now that I've taken care of the dimwits right here, I don't have to worry about anything anymore. hehehe!"
"You won't get away with this!" Rick angrily said as he tried to pull himself out his binds.
"Sorry about that, Mr. Rick Bradshaw." The mastermind smirked. "I already did."
"Urgh!" Emma interjected while continuing her struggle to escape. "Just hang in there, Joshua, Gladiola." She muttered.
The mastermind grinned at Rick and Emma as he began to chuckle. He especially designed their binds since he knew that Rick has superhuman strength. However, he still feel a little uneasy as he observed the two of them. They might be able to escape if I'm not careful. The mastermind thought, putting his guard up. Well, in any case, I think they won't be escaping soon. After all, Karl and his wife are here. They know all of their weaknesses as well as their strengths. It should be easy, watching over them.
"Karl, you observe these kids and turn the power-source to full power." The mastermind ordered. "Our plan is almost accomplished so we have to put our guard up. Don't let any of them meddle with anything. Use force if necessary. And if you need it, my guards are awaiting our command."
"Yes, sir." Karl answered as he turned over to his wife. They knew the risks of turning the power-source to full power, and there's a high probability that it might kill Joshua and Gladiola. Still, they showed no sign of pity nor emotion as they work their way to the power-source's codes. They didn't even budge at the thought of Joshua and Gladiola getting killed. Like robots, they turned the power-source to the maximum without batting an eye.
"Done, sir." Karl confirmed.
"Good! Good!" The mastermind guffawed. "We're almost there! Haha!"

Tsunamis...Earthquakes...Thunderstorms...Wildfire...
The earth has never experienced nothing like this in the past. Everything was simultaneously happening as if the world is coming to an end. The countries all around the world have already united to pool in all their resources and put a stop to the terrible phenomenon that was happening, Unfortunately, it was just unstoppable and no matter how hard they think about it, the world leaders can't seem to arrive at a possible solution. They were too busy evacuating their people to a safer place even though they can't find a safe haven for everyone. All that they could do was pray and hope that something would stop it.
A United Nation meeting was held in behalf of the terrible occurrence. Even scientists and specialists were specifically called in the meeting in order to monitor, and hopefully stop, the end of the world.
"Everyone! The core is failing!" One of the specialists shouted as he pointed towards his computer screen. "It's speed is rapidly slowing down!"
.....
I...is this...another memory? Joshua asked himself as he looked around. Everything was dark and he couldn't see anything. For a moment, he thought that he was dead, as if he was in an idle state.
Beep...beep...beep...
Suddenly, the darkness began getting lighter and lighter. He could hear indistinct voices now and he felt quite relieved. A few seconds later, his eyes were greeted by a bright light. He remembered that he was in some sort of hospital a little while ago and that he was being operated for some reason. Still, he couldn't remember the past years of his life. Joshua stared around, as if in a daze. Where am I? He asked himself.
He could hear the alarmed voices of his parents and other familiar voices. He saw a kid, the same age as him, staring at him since they were side by side each other. Who is that kid? He asked himself, trying to recollect if he had seen him somewhere before since he looked familiar.
As Joshua looked on the other side of his bed, he saw a girl, crying beside him while holding his hand. "Joshua...are you okay?" She cried.
Who is this girl? Joshua said to himself as he wracked his brain to remember if they had met before. She knows my name and she looks familiar. Who is she?
Rick, on the other hand, was on the same state. He could only recognize his parents as soon as he opened his eyes. Everyone else looked familiar, including the boy beside him and the girl crying on the edge of the boy's bed.
After a few seconds, Joshua and Rick's once stopped heartbeats began to stabilize once again as they fell into slumber. Their parents began to cry and feel relieved as they saw their children live once again.
Gladiola also stopped crying after seeing that Joshua was alive and well again. All of them couldn't feel any happier at that moment. Even though they know that their children's lives are constantly in danger, and that Joshua and Rick will never be the same again, they know that the worst thing that could happen to them is when they lose their children. That's why they had taken all the precautions necessary to keep them safe.
After a few weeks, Joshua, Rick, and Emma's family moved away from England and migrated to the United States, specifically in Oklahoma city. There, they were certain that nothing could go wrong anymore, and that their children will no longer be targets as long as they never recognize each other.
Gladiola, however, was the only one who didn't lose her memory. That's why her parents decided to keep her with them in England.
.....
"Joshua...Gladiola..." Rick muttered. "Don't tell me..."
After seeing Gladiola cry and Joshua struggling just like in the past, Rick finally remembered everything that has happened in the past just as Joshua remembered his. Rick couldn't believe that Gladiola was right all this time; that they had met before in the past. We just can't remember it. Rick told himself.
"Don't worry, Rick." Emma muttered, fighting back her tears. "Everything will be alright."
