It was our second year out of college. I went for photography, Kaylee for journalism. We'd been great friends ever since. We were the type who would hang out every Saturday, do our photography assignments together on Sunday. I'd be taking pictures of her out in nature; she was the best model you could ever have. Green eyes with golden flecks, auburn hair, and a perfect smile. She was beautiful.

I had icy blue eyes, short, styled, light brown hair, and scattered freckles. I loved my appearance no matter what anyone said. I was 5' 7''. Kaylee and I were studying in Seattle. After college we were both assigned as work partners at Photography of Seattle. Their motto gave a great picture of the company. Capturing Precious Moments and Memories. Photography of Seattle offered free cameras but I had my Canon EOS 5D Mark III. It was a gift from my father when I graduated.

Photography of Seattle sent Kaylee and I on week long trips. We've gone to New York, Venice, Amsterdam, Rome, and Barcelona. Those were the best weeks of my life.

Kaylee and I were sitting at the local coffee store, Starbucks. It was always a tradition for us to go there before work. "What's on your agenda today, Wes?" Kaylee's sweet voice asked me.

I took a sip of my cappuccino before responding, "Meeting with the boss, then I'm off to take pictures for a girl with cancer's benefit. What are you up to?"

"Sorting through Dan's photography and writing articles for them. Dan didn't take too many pictures so maybe I could come to the benefit with you?" Kaylee suggested. I never thought of asking her. I wondered if Mr. Medlock would allow it. He didn't really like Kaylee and I being together. He's a jerk.

I finished my cappuccino, "Only if Medlock would agree."

"I'm pretty good at convincing," she winked. I smiled. "We should be leaving. It's half past eight."

I dug a five out of my wallet and laid it on the table, "Yes mam." I chuckled. I opened the door for her into my Prius. We carpool because we literally live two blocks away. Same road, different apartment buildings. I pulled into the Photography of Seattle's worker's parking lot. I unbuckled and grabbed my camera bag and my laptop. Kaylee grabbed her laptop too.

I opened the door to the modern building and let Kaylee go in first. The inside was made up of five offices, a meeting room, a break room, and a receptionist room. I set my stuff in the second office on the left. The one between Mr. Medlock's and Kaylee's. I plugged in my MacBook and put on Pandora. I left it play and I walked over to Mr. Medlock's office. He was on the phone and sounded like he was making a deal with a customer. I waited until he hung up to knock on the door. "Come in Wesley," his stern voice called. "Sit."

"Good morning Mr. Medlock," I said trying to play it safe.

He looked at me and shrugged papers over to me, "I just finished scheduling your next business trip." I looked down at the papers and was filled with awe.

"Paris! Thank you so much Mr. Medlock," I thanked him. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was going to Paris. Kaylee and I have been wanted to go to Paris ever since we graduated college. That was what we were saving our graduation gift money for.

"Yes Paris, Wesley," he smiled. I'd never seen him smile before. "You'll be leaving July 17th. Your supposed to take a photo shoot for a wedding on the 23rd. The rest of the days are yours to vacation."

"Sir, this is great but can I ask a favor?" I looked at him.

He wrinkled his brow, "Isn't this a favor already?"

"Yes Mr. Medlock, but I was wondering if you could send Miss Wilson with me? It'd be an honor.

"Our company doesn't have enough funds to cover an extra plane ticket," he sighed.

I thought for a minute, "Sir, I'd be willing to pay for her." I had about three quarters of the cost for a single ticket to Paris. Hopefully Kaylee would have the other quarter.

"Well then I don't see why she couldn't go," he smiled.

"Thank you so much Mr. Medlock. Thank you so much," I reached my hand out to him and he shook it.

I ran out of the room and knocked hard on Kaylee's office door. She took her earbuds out of her ears and answered the door. "What is it Wes?" she asked.

"We're going to Paris."
