I hadn't realised how much I hurt Wes. I snuck multiple glances at him out of the corner of my eye. He was staring at Connor as Connor was looking away, the hatred clear on his face. Just as I was about to say something to Wes, a man stood up and loudly clanked his butter knife on his wine glass.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to toast to the the lovely new husband and wife," he raised his wine glass, "to a happily ever after!" Everyone raised their glasses and muttered agreements. I looked over at Wes and he looked at me with a small smile gracing his lips.

"I would now look to announce the newlyweds first dance," the DJ said over the speaker. Abigail and Fabien took the dance floor both smiling from ear to ear. Wes and I captured as many pictures as we could, as we were giving them a surprise gift of pictures they hadn't ordered.

Many people had joined the couple on the dance floor after their song was done playing. After we had packed the cameras back in their bags, we headed over to congratualate the newly weds.

"Please help yourselves to the open bar and stay awhile!" Abigail told us after Wes had announced we were going to leave.

"Well I guess we could stay just a little longer," I said turning towards Wes and giving him a cute, pleading smile. Wes ran a hand through his hair and sighed.

"If you insist," he said turning to the couple with a smile that didn't reach his eyes. Abigail clapped her hands excitedly, "Well go on! It is an open bar so help yourselves!" and with that the couple went off to dance more.

I turned to thank Wes for saying we could stay, only to find he wasn't there. I started through the crowd scanning faces to try and find him when I hand caught mine. I whipped around, expecting it to be Wesley but finding, none other than, Connor.

"Sorry if I scared you," Connor said with a smirk.

"Oh no, you didn't scare me I just expected you to be..er... someone else," I managed to say.

"I was, uh, wondering, could I maybe, um, have a dance with you?" Connor sputtered.

"Of course," I smiled. As we walked, arm-in-arm, to the dance floor, I scanned the crowd for Wesley. I sighed inwardly when I couldn't find him. As we reached the dance floor the song, much to my surprise, 'On the Coast of Somewhere Beautiful' by Kenny Chesney started playing.

"Abigail was always in love with Kenny Chesney," Connor commented.

"I love this song" I smiled and took a step closer to Connor putting my arms around his neck. Connor smiled back and placed his arms around my waist, pulling me closer.

"So, how long are you going to be in France?" Connor asked, his mouth close to my ear.

"Four more days," I answered. We made more small, talk laughing and joking, as Kenny Chesney's voice began to fade. The next song came on and we kept dancing. As we danced turning in slow circles I watch the couples around us dancing too. Just as I was about to look back at Connor a figure caught my eye. Wes. He was leaning against the bar, in the far corner where there was little light, staring at Connor and I with an expressionless face, his arms crossed over his chest. There was an unmistakable bottle of whiskey and a glass sitting on the bar right next to him.

I pulled back from Connor giving him an apologetic smile. "I've got to go find my boyfriend," I said, putting emphasis on 'boyfriend'.

"Okay maybe I'll see you around?" he asked.

"Definitely," I said and spun on my heel making my way towards Wesley.

"Enjoy your dance?" Wes spit out as if it tasted like poison when I reached him.

"Wesley, the guy just asked me for one dance and I agreed because I didn't know what else to say," I explained calmly.

"Well you seemed to be perfectly fine when he pulled you a little too close to him!"

"I wouldn't have had to dance with him if you didn't ditch me!" I yelled, finally letting my anger go. I saw guilt flash in Wes' eyes before I spun around and headed off into the crowd.
