I grabbed Kaylee’s jacket and I put it on her shoulders. I wrapped my arm around her waist as a true gentleman would do. I pressed the elevator button and as we waited for the elevator Kaylee kept asking where we were off to. “Only one of the uniquest places in Paris,” I kept repeating. She asked for the lock and I slipped it slowly into her hands. She would trace the letters with her thumb trying to make sense of it.

“You.”  she said.

I kissed her ear, “You.”

Leaving the hotel, the cold evening air made Kaylee shiver. I slung my backpack off my shoulders. I then, pulled out my hat I had bought the day we saw the Eiffel Tower and slipped it on her head. “Thanks,” she blushed. I loved it when she blushed. It was like when someone says, “You made my day.”

I took the same street where I was only hours before. “I met a friend there,” I said pointing at the engraving shop.

“That explains this then?” she understood. She brought up the lock and spun it around on her finger.

“Yes. He also made me promise something to him,”

“That is?”

“In a few minutes you’ll know.”

A few turns later the infamous bridge came into view. Millions of locks were connected to the bridge. I thought it was magnificent how something so simple could be a promise to last an eternity. Rows and rows of locks made Kaylee fully aware of the situation.

She took the lock out of her coat pocket and walked up to the right side of the bridge. “Here?” she said gesturing to a spot next to several other locks. Anna & Nick, Lydia & Dan, Benedict & Adele. I’m glad they were together. The locks reminded me that not only did Kaylee and I have our ups and downs. I mean, Lydia probably has gotten close to kicking Dan out on to the curb before. I’m thankful.

“It’s up to you.”

She swung the lock around the bar and let it sit there. I reached for her hands and we stared deep into each others eyes. “Kaylee.”

“Wesley.” I wrapped her closer in my arms. She snuggled against me.

“I’m happy that you’re going after your dreams and not letting anything stop you. Not even me. I wouldn’t ever think about stopping you from leaving to chase your dreams. I’m so happy for you.” I took a deep breath, stepped back from her and continued.

“I know that sometimes things don’t work out when one person moves across the country and one person stays behind, but we aren’t like other people. I’m willing to fight for you and if that means I won’t see you for weeks maybe months at a time I can do that. I’ll do it for you.”

“And I’ll do it for you.” With that I tugged on her waist bringing her back to me. I bent down and kissed her harder than I ever have. She responded immediately and moved her lips against mine. I bit her bottom lip gently and she moaned against my lips. She parted her lips granting me entrance. Her hands traced my shoulders and then tangled into my hair.

I broke the kiss and leaned my forehead against hers. We were both breathing heavily.

“I think that’s enough PDA for today,” Kaylee whispered, causing both of us to laugh.

“Come on. There's one more thing we have to do,” I said, grabbing her hand and pulling her over to the bridge railing.

“A promise to forever,” Kaylee whispered

“A promise to forever,” I repeated and together we threw the key into the river below.

I wrapped her in a hug and her head fell on my shoulder. My hand placed itself on to the back of her head. I held her close as I stared out into the distance. I could feel Kaylee’s mouth smile against my shoulder. “Wes. I love you. I love you a lot actually. More than you know. I love you to an infinity. I don’t know how but we’ll make our relationship work. But I’m going to miss you like crazy. I’m thankful for you. You, Wes. You.” She looked up at me.

“Kaylee. You are beautifully, wonderfully, imperfectly perfect. I love you for that. I love you for you. You.” I put my hand on her face and we stared into each others eyes. Her golden flecks illuminated those green eyes I loved.Minutes past with us just staring at the stars

“Maybe just a little more PDA,” she smiled and pulled me close to her and we softly kissed more pationetly by the second. She pulled away slowly. “Its getting cold. Can we head back?”

“If you’re ready.”

She nodded and I held her hand and we walked together back to the hotel. It started to rain half way down the street so we quickened our pace. We didn’t wait for the elevator we ran up the stairs laughing our heads off. Kaylee swung the hotel room door open and we fell on to the bed together. It was our last night in Paris and we were going to remember it.

Kaylee pulled off her jacket and threw it on the floor along with my hat. She unbuttoned my shirt. I pulled off Kaylee’s shirt to reveal her lacey bra. She traced my bare chest with her index fingers. She slipped her bra straps off her shoulders then continued to unbuckle the back letting it fall from her chest. My nervous hands brushed her hair out of her eyes. I don't know why I was scared. This was our second time and I wasn't scared the first time. Kaylee let down her hair and I nervously pulled off my boxers. I put my nervousness aside and let everything escalate.
