Something's Wrong

Finn

I woke up absolutely confused and then I realized that my mom was tapping me on the shoulder lightly. She whispered, "We're here, Finn." I nodded slowly and looked around to understand what she meant by 'here'. I began to realize how idiotic I was. Of course. We're in California. Home sweet home. I stood up and my mom followed as we exited the airplane and rushed through the sea of people blocking our way.

I had to hurry home because I need to prepare for school in two days. It may be two in the afternoon, but I won't risk the chances of me forgetting anything I need for school. My mother could tell I was worried because she was following along my fast pace towards the door to our driver that picks us up.

Our driver opened the door for the both of us, as we bent our heads down to get in. He then went to the driver's seat to cautiously reverse from our parking spot and sped forward to our beloved house. My father must be anxious for our arrival. It's been a few days but to me it felt like limitless years.

I'm so happy I get to see Noah, Gaten, Sadie, and Caleb. Although, I'm not so sure about Caleb. I remember some messages on our Stranger Things Kids Group Chat stating that Caleb changed. I seriously hope it's the good kind of change. I swear, why do numerous events occur at our high school but if I'm not there, barely anything ever happens at all?

Funny how things can sometimes feel like complete nonsense. I just hope everyone is well and not internally dying because of school. I grabbed my travel backpack and began to search through the front pocket for my phone. I powered it on and the home screen started to appear. I read the date and it was November 16, 2019. It's basically Saturday, so I guess I can play video games with Nick, my brother.

He's been dying to tell me something about some new video game releases on the PS4. I'm looking forward to that actually. I was able to rest on the airplane, so I can live to hear him rant endlessly. I decided to unlock my smartphone and a million notifications popped out of nowhere. It was from the group chat.

Gaten

It was another somewhat sad looking day for me. It's already afternoon, so at least school is done at two. At lunch, Caleb still hanged out with those juniors or seniors we still don't know about. We grew into the habit of getting used to this stupid act Caleb has been continuously doing. I don't know why he just decided to leave us out of the blue, but he did. While I was in deep thought about this mystery, I suddenly see from a far distance Noah and Sadie sprinting towards me, making me want to flinch out of fear. Sadie yelled out, "Gaten, I know who-- well, we know who those people," she breathes heavily and starts saying her sentence word for word, "Caleb has been with at lunch."

Noah then responded, also appearing tired, "I told Sadie about how I overheard him talking with his friends once the bell rang. I walked in the hallway and I noticed some textbooks lying on the floor. I picked it up and looked inside for the room number. Realizing how conveniently close it was to where I was heading, I decided to take them over to that classroom. I moved along and discovered the classroom I was going to go into. As I was about to open the door, I heard Caleb's voice and a few other peoples' voices. I decided not to go in. I flipped the book open once again to look at the top right corner and it showed, Room 38 Ian Alexander. I wanted to listen to their conversation, so I eavesdropped. It was all muffled voices to me but I'm pretty sure I heard the words 'OA' and 'squad'. I panicked and texted the group chat about it. Did you not read my frantic and urgent messages?"

Feeling guilty, I just shook my head in disagreement. I was thinking too much about this conflict. I can't believe it. Caleb has always been the older and wiser friend in our group. Now, he's acting like the idiotic one now. But, at least Finn is coming back in two days! Let's hope Finn doesn't freak out too much about this. I seriously hope he can be the witty friend and figure out how to handle this dilemma we're having because so far, we're not making progress.

Finn

"What the hell?" I accidentally shouted out and my mother looked at me with the 'Watch your language!' eyes. I murmured, "Sorry.." Back to the point though, I started reading these messages that were mostly in caps locks by Noah. He does that when he freaks out too much, so I knew something was wrong. I scrolled up and skimmed through it to always read the word, 'Caleb' every five seconds. They better explain this once I come back. I don't want to read all one thousand and fifty six messages.

I don't know what's going on but I can tell that it has to do with Caleb acting different. Next time, I shouldn't miss any school days. It's super chaotic whenever I'm not around. Every newsworthy event pops out of nowhere and I have to wait until school comes around for people to explain what occurred. I hope this is all just jokes because Caleb has never acted this way when he was a junior.

When he began his senior year, he started drifting away from us and we didn't know why. He barely talked to any of us and he would just say that he's dealing with personal problems. We trusted him to take care of them and give him time, but he's taking that precious time that we've given him for granted. I was pretty sure he was going through something temporary, but now I'm uncertain. Please just let this be a dreadful nightmare that everyone will wake up to and smile in relief.

I made it especially for you guys, so if you want something to be added into this story, let me know in the comments and I can take it into consideration. If you wanna be more updated on when I post a chapter, follow @wafflesaresmol to be reminded of a new chapter being published! I forgot to mention that the reason why they are filming in California and not Georgia. It is for filming purposes. Like the weather is more sunny and less cloudy, so it's easier for the Duffer Bros. to film that way and I figured that if they were having a season three, than it shouldn't be too much of a hassle for the kids to travel back and forth all the time. So, I made their filming location closer.
