Millie

My sleepy mother and I started getting ready for shopping. I have to get more clothes, food, and other essentials for our long trip to Los Angeles. I decided to fuel myself up with more cake in the fridge because I still felt pretty tired but energetic to go to the mall if that makes any sense at all. I dragged myself to the refrigerator to cut a slice of leftover cake and gobbled it down ten times faster than last time.

I put the dishes in the sink when I finished my dessert and headed out to the door once my mom changed clothes and got her car keys. I walked outside, feeling the glistening grass brush against my shoes as I moved to the car. At last, we buckled on our seatbelt and we were on our way to have a fun shopping spree.

At first, it was kind of a boring drive on our way there but I was able to listen to some Ed Sheeran on my phone with my earbuds. I hummed the lyrics to "Thinking Out Loud" and I felt more energetic, despite the fact that it's a slow song. I truly love the lyrics and that's one of the reasons why artists like Ed Sheeran, Adele, and Beyoncé are my music inspirations.

We arrived at the mall surprisingly quickly. Music gets you lost in the moment, doesn't it? I opened the door and jumped off the car, so we can hurry and get what we need. I ran to the entrance with my mom chasing after me. I can't help myself. I'm so pumped for tomorrow.

My poor mother was panting once she caught up to me at the Calvin Klein store. They haven't sent me clothes in a while even though I modeled for them. It's okay though because they've seemed to recognize me with all those admiring stares from employees. I just decided to ignore them though and focus on getting some summer clothes for California.

I picked out a dainty mustard yellow dress with cute white polka dots on it. I tried it on in the dressing room while my mom waited outside sitting, sighing of relief. I came out to look at the squeaky clean mirror and twirled to see how  I looked. If I had blue hair, I would resemble Joy from the Disney movie, Inside Out. But it was not only the  appearance that made us both alike. I was authentically perky and joyful even. I thought I looked pretty to be honest.

"Millie,  are you don--"  My mother paused and gave me bulging eyes. Is that a good thing? She slowly walked up to me and gave me a kiss on the forehead. She embraced me for the longest time and I was oblivious as to what in the world is happening. She then released me and said, "You look so grown up, Millie. I love you." Completely filled with confusion but admiration, I responded gratefully, "I love you too."

I went back to the fitting room to change out to my regular clothes, while my mother is over there, paying at the cash register. We were both ready to go to the next store, considering we've been at that store for a whole thirty minutes just to try a single dress on. We had a mother daughter moment, so it was definitely worth my time. I haven't experienced those in a while. It felt genuine and I knew she meant what she said. "Let's go?" my mom asked.  I replied with a full set of white teeth, "You don't even have to ask."

Caleb

After school, I had to meet up with my so-called, "friends." They told me during lunch to see them in one of the isolated classrooms that most juniors and seniors barely go to.  I practically jogged there, so that I could head home faster because trust me. Boys like them talk just as much as girls. And it isn't pretty. I opened the classroom door and  saw them at about ten feet away from me. So, I don't fully comprehend why the hell they would wave to me from this short amount of distance.  But, whatever. I gave them the most fake smile they've ever seen.

"Guess what, Caleb?" one of my fake friends said. Heck, I don't even know his name to be honest with you. "What?" I responded blankly. "I think it's time you become part of our OA squad. You've been a really great friend of ours," he said as his two friends nodded in agreement. "I'm glad you ditched those losers for us. I mean, your still in season three of Stranger Things, but we know that you are really our friend and not theirs." All three immature men chuckled darkly. "Hey! They are not losers. Shut up." I slightly shouted.

I heard footsteps. Was someone listening? I don't even remember. After a few awkward ten minutes of those rude people gaping their mouths, I stormed out of that treacherous room. I don't care anymore about my acting career, I want to make things right. I want my real friends back.

I headed to the table where Noah, Gaten, Sadie, and Finn usually sit at. I was running for my life, praying they were still there. I looked in all directions you can think of and I spotted them. Only thing that was different about them is that they were all sitting next to each other huddling. I slowly inched closer and I heard loud sobbing. What have I done?

Thank you for 300 reads! Just to clear up, the reason why Millie is traveling to California tomorrow is because London has different timezones compared to Finn's flight which is in two days. Yes, they are both coming to California on the same day. :)
