Best Friends Again

Millie

After I called Finn, another notification popped up on my phone and it came from the Stranger Things Kids Group Chat, which surprised me. I clicked on it and secretly heard apologies coming from what seemed like Caleb, Gaten, Sadie, and Noah. I wonder what happened. But it didn't matter. As long as everything is figured out now.

I realized Finn was in the call so I made a funny but smart remark. I thought maybe I would lighten up the mood. Everyone was so shocked that Finn and I were there though. I hope it was a good kind of shock. Thank goodness it was. They were all happy to talk to Finn and I. I was able to talk to them and catch up on what's going on. Yeah, we have social media and all that but I barely have time to manage to look at their feeds.

After we've all laughed and talked for a while now, it took me five hours to realize it was early morning for them! I ended the call with Finn at midnight which means they didn't get sleep. "Oh my God. Guys! Isn't it like five in the morning for you guys? Why didn't you tell me?"I practically shouted at them frantically. Sadie then said calmly, "Millie, we wanted to talk to you. We haven't talked to you in ages so if staying up all night means talking to you, it's all worth it. Because we miss and love you." Everyone in the call teasingly said "Awe." Caleb then laughed a bit and said, "Hey Finn. You miss and love Millie, right?" Gaten then gasped and replied, "Caleb! I know what you're trying to do. Leave Finn alon-" Finn interrupted Gaten and said, "I mean yeah. Of course I miss her. And love her." It was dead silent after that.

I gaped my mouth and my face turned as red as a cherry. I didn't expect that to happen. Noah decided to break the silence and said, "So, Millie! Are you planning to visit us? Maybe like a reunion." I responded enthusiastically, "Oh yeah! Definitely." Sadie cheered and replied, "When?" Oh no. I can't say I'm leaving soon. It's supposed to be a surprise.  I don't want to lie. Friends don't do that. "Secret!" I said with a nervous laugh. "Come on," Sadie pleaded, "Millie, tell us." Finn spoke out for me and said, "Sadie, just give her time to say it when she wants to say it." Caleb, Gaten, Sadie, and surprisingly Noah started fangirling over "Fillie" by screaming noisily and clapping.

"Shut up!" Finn told them harshly. I just chuckled and I went along with Noah, Caleb, Gaten, and Sadie's silly actions. It was annoying, but entertaining to see them so joyful. If they're happy, I am too. "You'll find out soon," I told them with a reassuring tone. They all seemed to have agreed with a simple reply. "Okay," they all responded. We talked for a few more minutes until I heard someone call my name from another room. "Millie! Go to sleep. It's a special day tomorrow for you." The voice sounded a lot like my mom and I was so startled and panicking nonstop, contemplating whether Noah, Finn, Gaten, Sadie, or Caleb heard that or not. I want that whole reunion mission to be a spectacular surprise.

I just said apologetically with a miserable attitude, "I'm sorry. I have to go everyone. It's already night here and you all need to catch up on your beauty sleep. I love and miss every single one of you. Let's hope we can talk again. Bye!" Gaten replied, "Awe. Okay." Caleb said, "Talk to you soon!" Noah responded sleepily, "Adios. We love and miss you more." Last, but absolutely not the least, Finn spoke in a small voice, "Okay, Millie. Take care."I rushed off to bed and turned off my lamplight once I've settled down with my phone plopped onto a coffee table. I slept with a river of thoughts flowing in all directions, debating whether this day could get any better.

Caleb

It felt so stress-relieving to finally be able to hang out with my real friends. Kind of. It was a phone call but I'm still grateful. I'm glad Sadie is smart. Without her intelligence, I'd be dead by now. She's literally the definition of a genius. I'm so happy Sadie decided to not follow the norm of Finn, Gaten, or even me saving the day by somehow mending all of our issues. Thanks, Sadie.

Also, when did Millie come in to our call? Am I seriously that oblivious? Now that I think about it, Finn was also there when Millie talked to him about some plan or whatever that was. Were they talking before the group call? Like, why were they talking about some plan? Honestly, they are adorable together. Two years passed and yet I can still see the same old Finn and Millie together no matter what. They keep denying they like each other and I wonder why.

All of us know they both like each other. Millie confessed to Sadie and Finn told Gaten he liked Millie a long time ago. I got jealous that Finn didn't tell me his cute little secret, so Gaten told me. Until now, I'm super positive they still have feelings for each other. No doubts. Their love lives are so complicated. This is why Gaten and I have devoted our lives to food.

Noah is a different story. I have a feeling that he liked Sadie before but now he's still dating Julia Raskin. I don't know how to feel about her. She seems sweet to Noah but I don't know about Gaten, Sadie, and I. I hope Noah is making the right choice. Because if I had to choose between Julia or Sadie to be Noah's love interest, hands down, it would be Sadie.

Finn

I'm so stupid. "I mean of course I miss her. And love her," I repeated again to myself. Why did I say that to her? I'm such an idiot. It's not like I genuinely didn't mean it but now when I go to school on Monday, Sadie, Noah, Caleb, and Gaten will tease me forever. I should've let Gaten defend me and not just interrupt him. He was protecting me from Caleb's foolishness, but of course, I decided to 'man up' and tell her I really do love and miss her.

I looked at the clock and it was seven in the morning. Millie's right. We did stay up all night to talk to her. No wonder she was worried. It's like eleven in the evening over there in London though. I slowly rose to my feet once my toes touched the stone cold ground. I walked over to the bathroom and looked at the mirror. I rubbed my eyes faintly and once I opened them, I noticed my eyes were bloodshot red. I smiled though because talking to them is worth my precious time.

I dragged my feet towards the breakfast table after I freshened up a bit. With all the energy I had left, I prepared food for myself and poured some orange juice into a glass and started to savor everything. Nick walked in and groaned. "Oh, it's you," he said sarcastically. He pulled out a chair and asked, "So, get enough sleep last night?" Hesitantly, I said, "Yeah. Of course." Nick started laughing at me as if I made the most comedic joke in the world. "Finn," he said with a smile. "I heard you last night. You were talking with people on your phone. I don't know who but you were laughing nonstop and practically yelling all night." I gaped my mouth slightly and tilted my head. I then responded after a gulp from a drink, "I was trying to stay quiet. I guess my "silence" didn't work," I replied with sweaty hands and a nervous laugh. Nick then yelped, "Well, it doesn't matter. I won't tell mom and dad. Not this time, so don't worry."

He said this in a malicious tone and a maniac laugh. Could he not be anymore evil? Whatever. At least I'm in the clear. Otherwise, I'd be in deep trouble by now. Nick surprisingly asked, "Hey Finn. Let's stop by the video game store. It is the weekend and you have one more day until school." I replied, "Sure. You're not playing any games with me, right?" Nick then said, "Finn, we're looking at games, not playing them. I rolled my eyes and told him, "You know what I mean! Quit playing dumb." He playfully punched me on the arm. "Fine," he said with a sigh, "I know what you mean. I'm just trying to be nice for once. Let's go, okay?" I stood up and smiled with a nod, "Okay."
