Remember What You Went Through

There was once a little girl

who stood on a barren land of bones.

Her eyes were swollen from days of hiding,

from nights of crying and screaming silently.

She never felt so alone.

There is a soldier now,

she still stands on a land of bones.

She hides a piece of herself away,

away back in the past.

She watches as scars keep re-opening,

the flood of dark memories slip through.

She will never forget,

nor she will ever forgive

the year of abuse

and the years of being considered as a social recluse.

She was a girl,

now she's a soldier,

deemed to fight in the battles of her mind and

posesses a hate that could raze the world.

Now she lays down in a bed of flowers,

her eyes tired and shut,

she will never give up,

but...she's too broken to be the same.
