I'm stuck in this dark dark place,

A place where I can't see

the way out or what I where I wanted to be.

This place is

my past,

my present,

and possibly,

my future.

Now, why would you shackle yourself to a dying martyr?

I'm stuck in this dark dark place,

where my name is stained with blood and shame.

What is this this place

where no one can see

the demons that creep

and the spirits that scream?

I'm stuck in this dark dark place,

where my name is forgotten,

where my time of living doesn't matter anymore.

Can you feel the terror?

Can you feel the emptiness?

I'm stuck in this dark dark place,

while my body over there

is dressed up and readied

for a funeral?

For a service?

I watched as my face

was plastered with makeup,

all fake fake fake.

Strangers come and give my corpse blessings,

who knew those pitying eyes

were worth nothing?

I'm stuck in this dark dark place,

can you hear the church bells ring?

Desolate and sad,

that's all what fate has in store for us.

Now, my Loved One

will you take my hand?

My love you for is in my eternal heart,

but...what if you let me die a second time?

Dear, will you let me die a second time?

Based on the satirical novel called The Loved One by Evelyn Waugh.
