Chapter 16.

He stood up, still looking at me and nodded his head. He walked out of my room and disappeared around the corner.

I stood up from the bed and went over to the closet, pulling out a pair of high waisted shorts and my black rolling stone tank top, and throwing them onto my bed. I went into the bathroom and turned on the shower, sitting on the toilet seat waiting for it to turn hot. I jumped in the shower and quickly washed my body. I washed my hair and ran my fingers through it, combing out the knots of shampoo.

I got out and reached for the peach colored towel on the towel rack. I stepped out and looked into the mirror, sighing. I tilted my head a little bit, admiring my features. My grey eyes were dark, and they carried heavy bags underneath them from stress and no sleep. I haven't worn makeup for almost 3 1/2 weeks. And that's when it hit me.

I've been with Jason for almost a full month. My eyes started tearing up and I sniffed, my nose blocked from allergies that this weather gave me.

I put my head down, resting my hands on the sink and blinked back my tears.

I walked into my room, throwing on the fresh pair of clothes I had threw onto my bed. I walked over to the dresser and picked up my brush, the bristles tearing the knots out of my hair. I decided to throw on a beanie since my hair wasn't cooperating with me today.I heard the tv on downstairs and tried to ignore it. I didn't want to go down there with Jason. It will just make me emotional.

I laid back on the bed and listened to the studio audience laugh at every funny thing they did on whatever Jason was watching. I couldn't handle being locked up here all day, so I went downstairs.

My hand softly sliding down the railing as I walked down the hardwood steps. I went into the living room, but there was no Jason to be found.

I turned around to the back door wide open. There was quiet talking, but I couldn't see anybody outside. I knew better than to go near the doors when I wasn't with Jason, because he'd kill me thinking I tried to get away, but that didn't stop me.

I slowly made my way over to the back door. I leaned against the doorframe and looked into the yard. There were palm trees on the other side of the fence, only letting me view the top of them. The grass was neatly cut and there was a little patio with a yard table. I spotted Jason, sitting on the table. He was talking on the phone to someone. I didn't want to go outside and have him yell at me but today was just a daring day.

I walked over to him and stood behind him, shifting my weight from one leg to the other.

"Yes, you will."

He sounded angry, and I backed up a little bit just in case he decided to throw a fit like last time.

"How about no?" His voice was getting louder.

I backed up a little more, hoping he would just see me already so I didn't interrupt him.

"Have it by Wednesday or I'll kill you personally." and with that he hung up the phone.

He sighed and covered his face with his hands. He got up and kicked over one of the chairs, and turned around to me.

His face softened and he looked to the side of him, and back at me.

"What are you doing out here?"

I put my arms behind my back and looked at the ground.

"I was um. I was looking for you." I looked up at him, squinting from the sun in my eyes.

He put his phone in his pocket and looked at me, frowning.

"Did you hear that?"

I bit the inside of my cheek and nodded, avoiding his eyes.

"I'm sorry you did." His voice was sincere.

I looked up at him and shook my head, " no I um, I should've told you I was here."

He cocked his head slightly and smiled at me, walking over. He snaked his arm around me and pulled me into a hug. I was nervous for a second, but let my arms relax around his waist, and rested my head on his shoulder.

"Are you hungry?" His hand running down my back and to my waist, pulling out of the hug.

I nodded my head and let my arms drop from around him. He moved my hair away from my face and followed me into the house.

"Do you want to go out or stay home?"

I faced him, shrugging my shoulders, "whatever you want,"

He shook his head and smiled, "no you pick, I'm going to change while yo think about it."

He started going upstairs, leaving me in the kitchen to 'think about it.' I leaned back against the counter top and waited. I didn't want to stay in the house, I was always locked up in here. So I guess we're going out.

I walked into the living room and grabbed the remote, watching the tv for a second before shutting it off. I ran upstairs and grabbed my jean jacket off of the bed post, leaving my phone behind since I only use it for Jason. I walked back downstairs, seeing Jason in the kitchen. His hair was neat but messy in a cute way. He wore a red tank top showing off his sleeve and black jeans. We kind of matched when I thought about it.

"I take it you want to go out?" He asked, grabbing the railing.

"Yeah," nodding my head, I looked up at him.

He grabbed his keys from the counter and opened the front door, letting me go first as usual.

"And what would you like to drink," the waitress put her pen in between her teeth, looking down at the booth where i was sitting,

"Pepsi please,"

She scribbled my order down on her manila notepad and then looked at Jason

"Ill have the same," he replied looking at me from the corner of his eye

We went out to Applebee's to eat tonight, i suggested on going somewhere cheaper, but Jason insisted we eat here.

A few moments later the same waitress came back with our drinks and meal. I was starving, i instantly perked up at the sight of the food

Once she put down the plate of food and left, i instantly picked up my burger and pigged out.

I heard Jason on the other side of the table laughing at me, "You weren't kidding when you said you were hungry,"

I chewed looking up at him, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, "Smile for me,"

I shook my head no, "Jason my mouth is full,"

He shrugged his shoulders, "Even better,"

I decided to play his game, with my mouth full and wide open trying to gross him out, he took the picture anyway, laughing.

Once he took it, he looked at his phone with a big cheeky smile, "Thats my new wallpaper,"

He shoved his phone back in his pocket and started eating,

"Hey, i got a question," Jason said wiping his mouth with a napkin, then throwing it on the side of his plate.

I finished chewing what was in my mouth and responded looking up at him, "Shoot,"

"Why are you lying to me?" He questioned with a stern look

"What are you talking about," I kind of chuckled.

"When i walked in your room and you said you were fine" he paused still looking at me, "You were lying," he crossed his hands over the table

I was silent for a moment. I put my burger down on my plate and looked up at him, his eyes were burning holes into my skin.

"I wasn't lying, I'm fine," i tried avoiding all eye contact with him, but i could feel his eyes set on me.

He heavily sighed sitting back in his seat, "I want to be there for you," he scratched the back of his head, "i want you to trust me,"

I took a long sip of my drink, not wanting to reply.

Trust him? How was I supposed to trust him? He kidnapped me, beat me, and forced me to kill someone, all in under a month. Trust was a forgiven word for me now.
