Chapter 30.
"I'll make sure if it,"
I looked away, not wanting to talk anymore. Jason exhaled as if he knew what he said didn't make anything better.
"I'll be in my room if you need me." He said, sounding quite annoyed.
He got up and left the living room, going upstairs. I waited until he was out of sight until I grabbed the remote, changing it to The Walking Dead. I curled up in the corner of the couch and looked out of the window on the other side of the room. I began to wonder about my mom again, if she believes that I'm still alive or not. I shook the thought off knowing that I'd just get my hopes up and turned my attention back to the TV.
The season four premiere was on tonight. I sat on edge as Rick followed a strange woman through the forest. She looked crazy if you ask me, and I was right. She brought Rick to her camp, where she began talking to her husband who was already a walker. All of a sudden she tried to hit Rick with something, but he stopped her. The show was interrupted by those loud beeping noises when they check the TV's emergency line. But it wasn't a just check up this time, it was an amber alert.
I sighed and sat back, waiting for it to go away. I remember seeing one a few months ago when I had first gone missing. I didn't care much for them before, because I never thought that I would have my name pop up on the screen. But now I had more interest in them, I wanted to see how many other people there were out there just like me. My eyes quickly focused back on the TV as I could've sworn I seen a familiar name. I waited for it to circle back around, and I was right.
'17 year old Gretchen Dillinois, Long Island, New York, last seen October 10th..'
My best friend. Everything around me seemed to be silent and still, except for my heart beating faster than it should be. This couldn't be just a coincidence. I know two people who would do something like this, and one of them had to be responsible. But how? We were in Florida. I would've known if Jason were gone for three days.
I continued to be in denial as well as shock for a few minutes before I remembered when Jason got that phone call. He said something about the warehouse. And when he left for a few hours, saying he had things to take care of.
I finally stood up, thinking of the worst possible things that could've happened, and turned around walking fairly quickly to the stairs. I ran upstairs and without thinking, to Jason's room. I swung the door open, causing his to jump slightly.
"What are y-"
"What did you do?" I cut him off, speaking in nearly a whisper.
"I don't know what you're talking abo-"
"Gretchen is missing, you know." I spoke a little louder, at least louder than it was before, "for 4 days now,"
He opened his mouth to speak, but closed it again, looking down at the floor and back at me. I felt a lump form in my throat and tears showed up at the brim of my eyes. My heart was pounding so loud I was sure that he could hear it.
"Where were you the other day?" My voice shook as I talked, and I kept shifting my weight from one leg to the other, too nervous to stand still.
"None of your business," he snapped back at me, revealing his mean side.
I ignored his comment and moved forward a tiny step, no longer standing in his doorway.
"The warehouse?" I sniffed, "that's what you said on the phone, right?"
He lowered his eyes as his tongue ran the inside of his cheek. He looked back at me and stayed silent. I put my head down, knowing that it was him who was behind this and let the tears finally fall from my eyes.

Genç Kurgu"Don't scream Parker." I froze. Did he just say my name? No, he couldn't have. I've never seen this kid before in my life. How would he know my name? "Parker. That's a beautiful name. Are you named after anyone?" I tried to say something, but not...
