Chapter 36.

"Where are we going?" I turned to look at Jason who's eyes were fixed on the dark road in front of us.

He didn't answer me and kept looking straight ahead, so I turned away to look back out the window. It wasn't really a surprise that he didn't answer me, he rarely does. I sighed and leaned against the window, trying to fall asleep but I couldn't, not after what I've seen.

I felt a slight chill and shivered, reaching to push the button so I can roll up my window, but Jason's hand moved over and covered it.l

"Don't do that," he said without looking at me.

I crossed my arms and sat back again, looking straight ahead. His attitude increased by what seems to be every hour. I sighed, bored out of my mind and Jason glanced at me.

"You're cold?"

I turned my head slightly towards the window and rolled my eyes so that he couldn't see, but obviously he saw me anyway.

"Don't roll your eyes at me, it was a question." He stated firmly.

I nodded my head and continued to look out the window. He slowed the car down and pulled over on the side of the road, a car beeping as he did so. I looked at him to see why he stopped and watched him pull his light grey hoodie over his head. He handed it to me, running his fingers through his hair in case he messed it up.

"No, you wear it," I rejected his offer, feeling badly that he took it off for me.

"Parker," he took my arm gently and put the sweater onto my lap, waiting for me to put it on.

"What if you get cold?"

He narrowed his eyes at me and smirked, "I won't get cold,"

"I can just roll up the wi-"

He cut me off, "No you won't. I mean unless you want it to smell like dead people,"

I stared at him shortly, wondering why he would even say that to me when I remembered he had a dark sense of humor. The first night I spent with him he said that he killed a family to take their house.

"Put on the sweater, or I'm not driving."

He gave me an ultimatum, and I put on his sweater, untucking my hair from the hood.

"Happy now?" I said sarcastically, waiting for a dull response.

He smiled and put the car in drive, pulling off onto the street again.

"You look hot in my clothes," he nudged me softly with his elbow, smiling at the road in front of him.

I giggled silently and blushed, looking out of the window so that he wouldn't take notice. We stopped at a red light and it wasn't until then that I realized how dark it was. The street lights were on, and the headlights of other cars illuminated the dark streets. When I felt my cheeks go back to normal temperature, I glimpsed at the clock. 9:31.

How was it 9:30 already? And how long were we driving? It sure felt like hours but I didn't actually realize that it was.

"Jason," I decided to ask my question again, "where are we going?"

He licked his lips before speaking, "to a friends house".

I felt my stomach turn again. Jason's friends were scary. At least all except for Jimmy. And just because they were his friends, doesn't mean they were mine too.

"Don't worry," he looked at me, almost as if he read my mind, "he's not going to try and hurt you or anything. I promise."

I didn't want to believe him, but he promised. And I guess I could really say now that Jason kept his promises to me.
