Chapter 25
'It was a bomb.'
I tried to get up quickly, forgetting that I was almost underneath my bed and bashed my head off of the side. I frantically crawled out from underneath it and stood up, running towards the stairs.
"Jason!" I screamed loudly enough to hear my echo voice back to me.
I ran down the stairs as Jason appeared at the bottom, grasping the railing tightly.
"Come here!"
"What?" His eyebrows furrowed in concern.
I was about to tell him what I'd seen, but he cut me off, "Parker if its about what happened I-"
"No!" I put both hands on my head, taking hold of my hair lightly.
"Well then I don't know I-"
"Jason listen to me please!" I started screaming over him, not caring what the consequences were, "there's a bomb!"
The expression on his face grew hard, "Parker if that was some kind of joke," he was about to walk away, but I grabbed his arm with both hands, pulling him back.
"Jason please! There's a bomb under my bed I swear!"
He instantly pulled his arm away and bolted up the stairs as I followed closely behind him, watching him as he looked underneath my bed and got back up hurriedly.
He moved past me, bumping my shoulder on the way and came back into my room, an expression of worry on his face.
Part of me said this is what he gets. He has done this to thousands of people, and now he knows exactly what it feels like. But the other half of me wanted him to figure something out, and quickly. My heart racing at the thought of the whole house blowing up.
Jason paced the floor nervously, running his hand through his hair out of anxiety. I watched him as his eyes were fixed on the floor, until he couldn't hold his anger in anymore and grabbed the side of the vanity that was in my room, and flipped it, causing the glass to shatter everywhere.
I jumped and threw my hands up to my face, wanting to try and calm him down but also not wanting to make things worse.
"Jas-" he cut me off by leaving the room.
I took this opportunity and quickly crawled back underneath my bed, carefully looking for a timer on the bomb without touching it when I seen the red flashing numbers on the side of it.
46:36:32 it read.
I slowly backed away from the device and stood up from the floor, running out of my bedroom door careful enough not to step on any glass. I peeked into Jason's room, not finding him there and ran down the stairs, skipping the last two. I heard the sound of his voice and quickly followed it to the backyard.
I didn't want to startle him so I stood in the hall doorway, not able to stand still whatsoever.
I noticed that he was on the phone with someone and tried to listen to what he was saying as he grew quiet. But just then his voice rose again, making me flinch at the sound.
"I want him dead," was all he said before he hung up his phone, turning around so quickly I thought he would break his neck.
His face greeted mine, he seemed surprised to see me as he slightly flinched. "What are you doing down here?"
I crossed my arms, looking up at him. "Well, there is a bomb in my room," I said annoyed, what a stupid question.
"You better watch your tone Parker," his expression grew serious.
