Chapter 33.
Without asking what's going on, I left the bathroom, quickly following Jason through the restaurant and trying not to grab attention from people. We walked past the main entrance and continued towards the fire exit, sneaking out of that door instead. I turned around quickly to see if Amanda and Jimmy were behind me, but they were gone.
"Jason, wher-"
I heard a loud screech of car tires outside and stopped talking as Jason slowly opened the door. I didn't see anything but cars parked. The breeze flew by and I shivered as Jason spoke to me smoothly.
"Stay quiet okay?" He whispered before grabbing my hand tightly, "and stay close to me,"
I nodded my head and bit the inside of my cheek, starting to walk but the faint clicks of my heels threw me off.
"Jason, wait." I pulled his arm back, kicking off my shoes and picked them up. My height dropped about 4 or 5 inches and I looked up at Jason, giving him the signal that we can keep going.
The ground was cold underneath my feet and it was silent outside until all of a sudden I seen headlights turn on from across the parking lot. I tried to think that it was just another customer, but they pulled out of the spot a little too quickly causing me to believe that it wasn't.
"Jason," I tugged on his arm and gestured towards the car that started to drive rather slowly through the parking lot.
He whispered something under his breath, but I didn't catch it. He pulled me behind him, jogging lightly before we stopping behind another car that was parked not too far from where we were.
"Who are we hiding from?" I whispered frantically as Jason looked at me.
His eyes were dark, not like the Jason who I was recently with. I was suddenly scared of him again at that moment. He took his eyes off of me not saying a word as I tried to figure out what was going on. I peeked my head around the front of the car and seen nothing, returning to the position I was a second ago.
Jason's phone vibrated loudly, and he searched for it, pulling it out of his back pocket. His screen lit up his face and I watched him curiously as he shoved it back into his pocket.
"Parker listen to me okay?" I nodded my head, looking at him as he spoke, "Jimmy is coming to get us in his car, but I need you to do something for me,"
I heard tires crunching, and assuming it was the car that we were hiding from, I clutched Jason's arm tightly. He stopped talking and signaled for me to stay quiet. I moved closer to him and he leaned us back against the car, trying to stay hidden as the car slowly but surely made its way by us. I caught a glimpse of who was in the drivers seat and gasped.
Alex.
Now I know why Jason didn't tell me. He didn't want me to overreact. But it was too late now.
I looked at Jason who's eyes were directly on mine. He opened his mouth to say something when a loud screech rang in our ears. I turned around quickly, my eyes finding Jimmy, opening the car door and stepping out.
"Parker get in the car," Jason stood up pulling me with him, he pushed me towards Jimmy and I looked around the parking lot, not finding Alex anywhere.
"You're not coming?!" I didn't mean to be so loud, but it still came out that way.
Jason quickly walked towards me, putting his hands on either side of my face, "I'll see you soon ok? I need you to go with Jimmy and Amanda they're going to take you somewhere safe,"
I jerked my head away and looked back at the car, "No. No I'm not going without you,"
"Parke-"
"No, Jason! I only trust you! I'm not going without you!" I cried, pleading for him to not leave me.
