"You're wearing a green dress? AWESOME!" Taylor squeals over the phone. I don't think we've ever held a conversation over the phone that didn't involve squealing.
"Yes. And you are wearing a light blue dress. Why is green so crazy?"
"Well, everyone else is wearing pastel colors and you are wearing emerald green, which looks gorgeous on you. You are going to look like royalty!" The green wedding dress...

Prom has finally arrived, and everyone has gone home early from school to get ready. I sit in my room with Taylor and Anna, who is applying our makeup. My hair is up in a fancy braid, and Taylor's isnhalf up half down, laying in beautiful wisps down her back. Her dress has a very low back, so she wanted to cover it slightly with her hair.

Aaron and Anna are finally home from college (thank goodness they were still together or I would not have decent makeup for prom) and she is staying with us for a few weeks before heading home. Eric is still at school, bitter that he has to suffer through a whole day.

Christian and Harrison are planning on picking us up at my house at five to go out to dinner and then head to prom. I feel oddly nervous about tonight, but I can't figure out why. I decide it is just excitement and push the feelings aside.

"Anna, you are freaking amazing. My face looks beautiful!"
"Taylor, your face always looks beautiful."
"Aww, thanks Anna. But really, you're amazing."
"Thank you. Do you like your makeup Sarah?"
"What?" I had spaced out. "Oh, yeah, it's wonderful."
"Are you sure? We still have time to change it."
"No no, really, it's perfect. I was just daydreaming, sorry."
"Don't worry, it's senior prom! Big night!"
"Yeah. Big night."

"You guys, you look beautiful!" My mom is grinning from ear to ear, taking thousands of pictures. She keeps telling my dad and Tay's parents how beautiful we are.
"Thanks mom. Are you done yet?"
"One more!"
"Mom!"
"Please?"
"Fine."
"Alrighty, now you better get upstairs before they get here so you can walk down all dramatic like."
"Okay, Mom. Whatever you want."

I am about to head back up when my dad stops me.

"Sarah, we are so proud of the beautiful young woman you have become. You made it into an amazing college, and are going to do amazing things. Don't do anything tonight that you'll regret."
"Trust me Dad, I'm not going to do anything stupid. My future is more important than one night."
"That's my girl. Now hurry on upstairs."
