Lauren -I couldn't sleep.
Knowing she was celebrating her 18th birthday, with someone else. I can't believe she didn't want to spend it with us. It's one of the most important moments in her life, and she's celebrating with Taylor and her friends. I'm not jealous.Am I? Maybe I am.
I tossed and turned for hours, just waiting for her to come back. It was 3:00 in the morning when I heard the door creek open and a person stumble in crashing in to every piece of bench and wall in the bus. I groaned and rolled out of my bunk.
"Camila?" As I was about to enter the main room in the bus I bumped into a small girl. "Do you know what time it is?"
"Ummmm. No, sorry I didn't know you were my mother." She rolled her eyes at me.
"Come one Camila, who even brought you back?" I grabbed the girls arm and pulled her towards her bunk.
"Uhh Taylor did." She stumbled over her own feet almost tripping over.
"Well she should know better that to get you this drunk. It's irresponsible." I opened the bunks curtain and pulled the sheets back on her bed.
"Like you can talk. And it's my 18th birthday. She actually tried to get me to slow down. I didn't listen."
She climbed into her bunk laughing as her head hit the pillow."Why are you laughing this isn't funny."
"It is. It's funny how everything can be normal for a night, I can have fun with my friends. And then the next day it's back to reality." Camila closed her eyes.
I contemplated leaving to go back to my own bunk. But I couldn't. I pulled myself into her mattress and wrapped my arms around her body.
"I'm sorry Lauren." I could only just hear the small voice murmur from her lips.
"Why are you sorry?" I pushed her for more information. I knew it was wrong with the state she was in but I knew I was never going to get answers when she was sober.
"For lying to you."
"What are you lying to me about?"
She didn't answer. Her breathing slowed to a consistent rhythm, signalling she had fallen asleep. I sighed, slightly disappointed that she hadn't answered. I pulled her closer to me and closed my eyes. It didn't take long for me to drift off to sleep.
When I awoke a figure towered above me.
"Lauren what are you doing?" Dinah lightly slapped my face to wake me up properly.
"Well I was sleeping. What are you doing?" I looked down to see Camila had her head nestled into my chest.
My right arm was numb under her body."Don't give me that. What time did she get in last night?" She crosses her arms.
"Uhhh I don't know pretty late. Or early, depends how you want to look at it."
"Well when she wakes up, we all need to talk." Dinah left me with Camila wrapped in my arms.
Minutes later she moved a little in my arms a sign that she was finally awake. She groaned and rubbed her head.
"Good morning princess. How's your head feeling this fine morning?" I giggled.
"Mmm god please don't joke right now, my head is killing me." She groaned again and lifted her head, her brown eyes showing the tiredness.
