"Where were you three?" Mary's marches up to us. "And where is Clary Fairchild" She wonders looking behind me, Alec and Izzy who have just walked into the institute.
"She's with Jace" Izzy lets her know.
"We can't have her wandering outside of the institute, bring them both back" She instructs before looking away "Oh and it's nice to see you again" She gives me a big smile before finally walking off.
"I think she likes you" Izzy smirks crossing her arms.
"That's be a first. She doesn't like anyone" Alec continues before we make our way to the kitchen.
"We either need to distract our parents or bring Jace and Clary back" Izzy says biting into an apple.
"Well Clary is trying to figure out where the cup is so I say we go with the first option" I speak out.
"Okay, how do you propose we distract them" Alec asks sitting on the bar stool.
"Well I'd say take their mind off it. Get them to think about something else" I propose.
"Like what?"
I take a moment to think for a second "Like me"
"Not wanting to burst your bubble but you're not that interesting.
I scoff "No I mean, what if somehow my institute were to contact me, saying that they want me back. They can try to solve that"
Alec nods in agreement "Not bad. that could work"
"You're a genius" Izzy jumps up.
"So how do we get them to contact the institute." Alec asks.
"Well I can call one of sort of friends to help out." I let them know already taking my phone out of my pocket.
"Sort of friends?" Izzy questions.
"I don't have many friends back in the institute, he's just terrified of me" I shrug and it's not a lie. Michael has been frightened of me ever since he saw me take down 20+ shack demons all by myself so he's bound to do what I tell him. Plus I'm an important asset to the institute so people listen to me... most of the time.
Alec and Izzy chuckle as I dial his phone number.
"Hey Skylar what's up" He greets me.
"I need a favour" I go straight to the point.
"Sure whatever you need"
"I need you to contact the New York institute asking for me. Be persistent but not too persistent."
"Okay what do you want me to say?" He questions.
"I don't know but make sure you stall them for a couple of hours" I lean against the kitchen counter.
"A couple of hours! How am I supposed to do that" He shrieks.
"You're smart, you'll figure it out" I shrug.
He sighs "Alright, I'll do my best"
"Oh one more thing, make sure Jessabelle doesn't find out" I tell him referring to the woman who now runs the institute. She took over after my parents death since I was too young to do so but she gives me full access to everything in there. Jessabelle is more of a friend than a boss tho which makes the institute a little easier to bare.
"What! She finds out everything" He groans.
"Well make sure she doesn't find out about this."
He sighs again "Fine"
