"I want everyone in the institute on high alert and I want everyone to drop everything they're doing and work on finding Skylar" Alec stands at the foyer shouting to everyone with a worried expression but as soon as he sees my face his eyes widen and he charges towards me.
He engulfs me in a hug "Are you alright?" He questions hugging me tighter.
"Alec I'm fine, no need to be so worried" I reply chuckling but my heart clenches at his sweetness.
"I know I know, just for a second I though that maybe something happened" He rambles on releasing me.
"I appreciate the concern but really I'm fine" I nod to reassure him and walk past him towards everyone else.
"Did you figure out how to take the cup out?" I whisper to Clary.
"Yeah I had to use it on some demons" Clary chuckles but it concerns me that she was put in that situation.
I frown "Are you alright though?"
"Are you alright? You took a long time" Clary answers my question with a question of her own.
"Yeah just ran into a complication" I chuckle but by the look on everyone's face they weren't gonna let it go.
"What kind of complication" Izzy asks.
"A shapeshifter" I reply.
"What happened?" Jace wonders and I sigh knowing that I'll have to tell them the whole story for them to be satisfied.
"Looked like Alec but I killed it, it's all good" I shrugged and I can see Alec gasp from beside me.
"What if it was me though" He complains.
"I kew it wasn't you" I chuckle.
"How did you know that?" He questions.
"I pay attention to the details" I roll my eyes but he smirks.
"So you know my details?" He teases and I nudge him shutting him up just as one of the computers start beeping.
"What's that?" Clary asks.
"Looks like someones trying to break into the institute" Alec follows up.
Then we all grab our weapons and make our way outside to investigate.
"Clary stay behind me" Jace walks in front of her to protect her making me roll my eyes. Clary honestly isn't as fragile as she look.
We walk around the institute for a few seconds before we see a man with his back facing us holding something or rather someone in his hand.
"Stop right there and drop whatever you're holding" Alec points an arrow at him and the man freezes. I am a little on the edge since I have a bad feeling about this but push it to the back of my mind focusing at every move he makes.
He begins to slowly turn around revealing that its Rafael with a lifeless Simon in his arms. My mouth parts in shock and I am momentarily frozen, just staring at Simons hanging head.
"Simon" Clary gasps running up to him checking if he's okay but we all know that he isn't.
"Come on this way" Jace leads the way to the basement of the institute where Rafael lays Simon on the table and that is when I feel a heavy weight on my chest. I feel like I can't breath because this is another person I love that died and even though I look strong on the outside I am very damaged.
"Hey" Alec squeezes my shoulder reassuringly but doesn't say anything else which I'm extremely grateful for.
"Simon" Clary breaks down holding Simon close to her and I'm on the edge of crying since this is Simon we're talking about and this wasn't supposed to happen.
