My team watched as Kyle shrunk to the size of a Hawk. his arms changed and the skin rippled into brown feathers. I know what you're thinking, gross! But it's honestly not. Raven leaped into the air, whipping her wings and propelled herself higher into the air. Kyle followed.

I stood, keeping the rest of the team in check. I saw the specks quickly grow bigger as Kyle and Raven returned back to the ground. A few feet from the ground Kyle transformed back. His legs elongated and his skin returned to normal. He landed firmly on his feet as did Raven.

"There's people there and over there." Raven pointed to the East and South.

"We came from the North so we should go West." Kyle finished. We all nodded and began walking in the said direction. Surprisingly enough, it was very quiet. Rink and Ash laid off each other and we all listened for signs of danger. After 13 straight hours of walking we found an abandoned shelter. Rink and Raven took the first watch.

If you're confused, I'll explain. We take watches in pairs. Raven watches from above while Rink stays on the ground. Kyle watches from above with Claudia on the ground and I watch from above while Ash watches  from below.

I walked into the hideout. It was underground and leading into it was a dirt and rock tunnel. Tree roots stretched through the cavernous entrance hall creating natural obstacles.  We climbs through the maze and found open spaces. We all curled up on the cool dirt. I felt a wave of sleep wash over me and my eyes closed. Not much happened that night. Kyle did both his watch and mine because he didn't want to wake me from what might be the only sleep I would get for a while.

When I'm worried about people, I can't sleep to save my life. My eyes fluttered open. "Morning, sleeping beauty." Rink brushed my hair out of my eyes like he did every morning.

"Hey, Gavin." I smiled. I stood up and stretched. The lighting was dim seeing as there wasn't anything other than camping lanterns. I cleaned up my space before allowing Rink to wake the others.

"RISE AND SHINE BOYS AND GIRLS! WE'RE STIlL ON THE WANTED LIST AND IT'S TIME TO RUN!!!" Rink called, drapping his arm around my shoulders. These words caused the others to groan.

"Shut up, Rink. God, seriously. We need to sleep long enough to be able to run at least." Ash argued.

"Can't you two go ten minutes without arguing?!" Claudia groaned. Pebbles around her hopped slightly as she tried to calm down. Kyle sighed.

"She's right, guys. If we're going to survive, we have to work as a team. Working as a team includes not arguing and getting along." Kyle's deep voice spoke as he leaned over his sleeping bag, rolling it up and stuffing his extra things into it.

"Whatever, Kyle. We all know you're only saying that because you have a thing for Claudia." Raven taunted. Ash and Rink snickered, and, let's be honest here, I did too. Claudia's cheeks reddened and Kyle stared pointedly at the wall, holding back the urge to yell.

This was going to be a long day.
