Nyssa's pov
"I'm back," I mutter, putting my phone in my pocket. The boys all frown as I sit down. "What?" I ask, confused by the looks they are giving me.
"Viper just saved some kid. In the same time frame that you were gone," Michael says slowly, eyeing me suspiciously.
I raise my eyebrows, "You really think that I'm Viper? Seriously? I wish I was her. But I was on the phone with Lucy, my girlfriend, like I said. Wanna see my call history?" I pull my phone out of my pocket and show the boys. I had called Lucy and just let the time run up while I was saving the kid so I'd have an alibi.
"You talked to your girlfriend for half an hour?" Luke says, still a little skeptical. I roll my eyes and nod.
"Y'all don't really think I could be a superhero, do you? I mean, honestly?" I question, trying to make their accusation seem as outlandish as possible. The four musicians hesitate then nod.
"Yeah," Calum agrees, "I guess you're
right." They drop the subject, but I am still worried. I don't doubt for a second that they still suspect me. Which means I need to do something to make it seem like I'm not Viper.~
"Remind me, why are we doing this?" Aiden asks me, furiously typing on his computer.
"Nyssa isn't as smooth as she thinks she is and now the band she lives with already suspects her of being Viper-" Lucy starts.
"-and she wants to have the hologram of Viper make an appearance on television while she's with the boys so they can see that they are not the same person," Oliver finishes. I nod.
"You should just tell them," Aiden says. I smack his head.
"You don't even know them. They're rock stars. They'd probably tell the world as soon as they could if they knew. That would be a hell of a lot more publicity for them because after all, that's what I am," I remind him.
"Speaking of which, where do they think their publicity stunt is now?" Oliver questions, tossing me a fruit snack.
"I don't really know or care. I didn't give them an excuse. I just kind of left the house this morning without talking to any of them," I answer.
"Won't they worry?" Lucy questions.
I shake my head no, "Like I said before, I'm required to be around them on interviews and some public events like that, but for the most part, they let me be and I leave them alone. They don't care about my whereabouts, I don't annoy them. It's a good system."
"Yeah if you want to keep living life as a lonely orphan," Aiden comments.
"I'm not an orphan. I was adopted," I say.
"Doesn't really count if you can't even tell me the last names of the guys who adopted you. I mean, honestly Nyssa, you could at least try to make a little bit of an effort to get to know them. I'd kill to be in your position," Aiden reveals.
"An orphan who only has five people in the world that care about her?" I ask.
"I thought you said you weren't an orphan anymore," Aiden taunts. I swear under my breath.
"You have millions of Viper fans all over, loser," Lucy reminds me. I roll my eyes at her comment.
"Alright. It's ready. Let's go record you doing stuff as Viper so Aiden can turn it into a hologram," Oliver instructs. I nod and follow him to the area we set up as our training space.
