Nyssa's pov

"-Viper and Storm we...." the television's volume gets turned down, making it hard to hear the rest of the story. I frown and walk into the family room where all four members of the band are gathered, sprawled out on either the floor or the couch. They all are wearing frowns as they watch the television.

"Hey!" I call, getting their attention, "Turn the tv back up! I was listening to that."

"No thanks. I don't wanna listen," Michael replies, sitting on the remote.

"But it's a story about Viper. What happened to your massive crush on her?" I inquire.

"Nothing. I just don't wanna watch this one." I roll my eyes and turn the volume up on the television.

"-neither super was able to stop the robbers, who got away with over a million dollars. No civilians were injured, but there were hostages taken during the robbery at the Michaels building. The hostages included Ashton Irwin from the band 5 Seconds of Summer, Mrs. Michaels, a waiter, Joh-"

"Nyssa, turn this off," Calum cuts in, speaking over the tv.

"No. Now be quiet. I'm trying to listen," I snap, getting frustrated. He sighs.

"Mrs. Michaels gave a statement to the police saying, "Supers haven't done anything good for us. Viper and Storm have both caused as much trouble as they've solved. They didn't do anything to stop the robbery. How can we be sure they're on our side? Those vigilantes, Blaze and Artic, haven't used their powers to help the common public either. They are just a bunch of irresponsible brats who attract trouble and put innocent lives at risk." Mrs. Michaels also mentioned that her son's life was at stake during this event and no one at the main event had any clue as to where he was. She continued to state, "What good are supers if we can't depend on them to watch over us? My son could've been kidnapped and neither one of them would've noticed because they focused on a conversation with the robbers. I think we should get rid of the supers." Mrs. Michaels's statement has caused a major debate to start. Over 56% of California believes that the supers are starting to act out of control and something needs to be done about them before they get too out of contro-" Michael turns off the television, stopping the story. I am numb from shock. They hate me? 56% really hate me? After everything I've done for them, they've abandoned me? I feel sick to my stomach.

"Hey!" Luke calls, getting my attention. I turn to face them, trying to keep myself from either A) throwing up or B) crying. "We all still think that Viper, Storm, Blaze, and Artic are kick ass," Luke finishes. I nod slightly and wave goodbye. I go upstairs.

Literally as soon as I get there, my stupid Viper phone starts to go off. Some other super causing trouble downtown. I tell Aiden I'm on my way then start running. Maybe I can change their minds about me.

"Hey!" I shout, "Leave them alone!"

"Viper. It's about time. I've been waiting for you. My boss is anxious to meet you," the girl states, laughing as she turns around. Cyclone. Dammit.

"Really? 'Cause I can't wait to meet him when he's behind a jail cell," I reply, charging her. She raises her palm and a gust of wind sends me flying back into the front of a store, crashing through the glass windows.

"Oh come on, Viper. I know you can do better than that. Why don't you give me a little bit of a challenge?" She taunts. I get up and rush her again. Cyclone laughs and tosses my body to the side. I hit the ground and tumble a little bit. That is going to hurt later. I look up and see the villain yawn. She turns away from me and raises her palm up, messing with some civilians. I run forward and grab onto one, yanking him down to the ground before she can throw him around. He hits the ground kind of hard. I turn back to face Cyclone, who is laughing and flying away. I turn my attention back to the man and offer him my hand. He stares at it with disgust, then shoves me away. I stumble backwards, shocked. I stand there petrified as people start to boo me. A few throw trash. The owners of the store scream at me about the broken window. My stomach drops. I turn and run back towards the hideout before speeding back home.
