Nyssa's pov

Well, I got Calum to shut up. But in the process, I basically revealed the biggest secret possible. Way to go, Nyssa.

"Way to go, Nyssa," Lucy calls, her voice full of shock and a little anger. I turn and glance back at her. She has her arms crossed over her chest and a scowl on her face. "What is this?" She asks, "The fourth person tonight?"

"Wait a second. What do you mean by saving the city?" Calum demands. I roll my eyes.

"Come on, Hood. Just spit it out. I know you know what I meant," I snap, my mood getting worse. I don't have anyone but myself to blame this time. Although, I can partially place the blame on Calum for driving me to the brink of insanity.

"You're Viper?" He says. It comes out as more like a question than a statement.

"Congratulations. Now you are one of the few people who know my identity. You now have a bull's eye on your forehead," I mumble, a slight guilty feeling creeping up on me. I had told him, then confirmed it instead of lying. I put his life in danger.

"So let me get this straight. We adopted a superhero?"

"Yep."

"Cool," he breathes, a grin appearing on his face.

"I don't know why you're smiling," Lucy pipes up. He ignores her comment.

"Wait a second. That means that you are the one who saved Michael the other day!" He exclaims. He furrows his eyebrows together as he thinks. "Michael has a crush on you. Oh my God. All of those times when we'd talk about Viper, you were right there. Oh God." I can't help but crack a small smile. He is so excited; like a little kid who found out that he is going to Disney World.

"Nyssa, I need to talk to you," Lucy pipes up.

"Can you go out in the hallway for a minute?" I ask Calum, not really giving him an option. He nods and leaves, his eyes still wide. I sigh and turn to face Lucy.

"What's up?" I inquire, sitting down on my bed.

"Why are you taking this so lightly?"

"Why are you overreacting so much? If Calum tells, which I don't think he will, people will have no way to prove it. Besides, we have the hologram."

"I thought you don't even like or trust him. Now you're okay with him knowing your secret? What the hell Nyssa?" I don't like the way she is yelling at me. Or how angry her eyes are as she glares at me.

"I'm not okay with him knowing, but I can't change that. What am I going to do; hit him in the head and convince him this is all a crazy dream? 'Cause that doesn't seem fair. I screwed up. Calum shouldn't be punished because of that."

"What about the other three boys? Did you screw up and tell them your identity too?"

"No. But why does it matter? They're friends. I just wanted to help them. What's wrong with you?"

"Only six of us have known about your identity for the past seven years. You almost doubled that number overnight without asking our permission."

"Well it's not your secret to tell. Last I checked, I am the one with the powers that goes out everyday, wearing a mask, and risking my life for people."

"We have just as big of a risk as you do because Olly, Aiden, and I work for you."

"You don't work for me. You guys volunteer to help me out. I never forced you to. Lucy, what has gotten into you?"

"I just don't trust the decisions you made. I think we need to break up. At least until you fix this problem with Calum." I see where she's going with this. She wants me to choose: her, my girlfriend and one of my best friends or Calum, the band member who doesn't even like me.

"Lucy," I say, my voice small, "I help people, not hurt them. I'm not going to hurt Calum and lie to him about this. I made my choice and I'm sorry you don't appreciate it. Please don't do this though."

Lucy gives me a sad look, "I hope that you'll come to your senses when he rats you out." Then she turns on her heel and climbs back out of the window, leaving me standing alone in the middle of my bedroom. I start to cry, tears running down my cheeks. I sink down to the ground and cry myself to sleep.
