Nyssa's pov

"So you could just, like, run to Australia right now if you wanted to?" Michael asks me, his eyes bright. I nod and eat another jelly bean, scrolling through my Viper Instagram feed. What? Can't a superhero have social media?

"You know, with all the really obvious superhero shirts you wear, I'm amazed that people don't realize you're Viper," Ashton comments, sitting down beside me on the couch. I lean back against his shoulder.

"Aiden and Oliver get them for me for Christmas each year. The boys think they're being funny. But in case you forgot, the perfect place for a super to hide is out in plain sight. Superman/ Clark Kent is a perfect example," I point out, turning my phone off.

"What's wrong? Social media too boring for you?" Calum teases, lowering his phone as well.

I nod, "I'm bored out of my mind and no bad guys are attempting shit. I'm almost wishing for something so I can do something."

"Call Xander, Rylan and River, or Aiden and Oliver. They always want to hang out with you," Luke suggests, joining the conversation.

"I can't. Xander's parents are forcing him to go to some event they're hosting today, Seth and Devon are watching out for crime for him, Rylan and River are stuck with their new family yet again, and Aiden and Oliver are having a date day."

"We'll hang out with you," Ashton offers, shrugging.

"Really? You guys actually want to hang out with me?" I ask, confused and in disbelief. Last time I checked, we are okay, but not quite to the hanging out level of our relationship yet. Baby steps.

"Sure. You are our favorite superhero afterall," Michael jokes, smiling widely.

I roll my eyes at his comment, "Maybe I should just go take a nap to sleep away the boredom."

"No!" Luke whines, "Michael is just kidding."

"I know. So what are we going to do?" I inquire, closing my eyes.

"I don't know. Go swimming or something?" Calum answers, questioning himself. I snicker.

"I don't care. Race you guys out back," I challenge, reopening my eyes. I take off running upstairs before they can complain or get up.

"What took you guys so long?" I taunt, relaxing on a pool float. Calum rolls his eyes at my comment and jumps into the pool, splashing me.

"That was so not cool," I grumble, wiping chlorine water from my eyes.

"Why didn't you just run out of the way?" Michael questions, laughing at me.

"Because I didn't feel like it. In case you haven't noticed, I'm actually a very lazy person. I don't like running," I answer, splashing him. He jumps back, trying to avoid the water. He ends up tripping over a pool noodle and falling on his butt. We all laugh so hard that we're in tears.

"That wasn't funny," he pouts, crossing his arms.

"It was hilarious," Ashton comments before jumping into the pool. Luke follows him. Eventually Michael stands up and climbs into the pool, joining in the fun. We spend all afternoon in the pool hanging out.

Almost as soon as we get out, I have a phone call. I answer.

"Nyssa, we have something big. Get down here quick," Aiden tells me urgently. Then he hangs up.

Sorry about the sucky filler chapter. By the way, there is only a few more chapters left. Somewhere between 3-5.
