Hopper's POV
"Hey, kid..."
"What are you doing here?" He said wrapping an arm around his companion
"D-Dustin?" The girl whined, she looked to be around the boy's age. She had h/c hair and e/c eyes.
"It's okay," He said consoling her. "What's going on?" He asked turning his attention back to me. I sighed.
"I'm afraid I'm gonna have to take you into police custody..." The girl had terror written all over.
"Wait! Why?" Dustin asked.
"You're undergoing assault charges," I said trying to seem heartfelt.
"You can't take him!" The girl shrieked, "He's hurt!" She was so scared, she looked like she was on the verge of tears.
"Well, then let me ask you this. How exactly did this happen?"
"I-I uh, fell." He muttered.
"C'mon kid, I'm trying to help you... You have to tell me the truth. I know you got into a fight with Troy Harrington." I said sternly. For what it was worth, I was trying to help. He was a nice boy, and I could actually stand to be around him.
"I wanna talk to my doctor." He replied. I sighed and nodded. He began clicking the button that called a nurse for assistance. After a few moments, a young man walked in.
"Hey, chief!" He smiled, "What's going on Dustin, what can I do for you?"
"I need you to get my doctor, and Joyce Byers."
"Why's that?" He said taking the kids pulse.
"I have to take him down to the police station, and I need clearance to discharge him," I said boldly.
"I'm sorry chief, but I'm afraid that's not going to happen..." He muttered as he adjusted Dustin's IV.
"And why not?"
"His injuries are still far too severe for him to go anywhere, yet. Besides, for you to take him we'd still need sign off from a parent or guardian."
"Take me." A voice said gently.
"What?" I asked turning my attention to the kids. It was the young girl, her hand tightly gripped Dustin's. She was obviously nerved.
"I was there, I saw what happened. Take me..." She turned to Dustin and smiled kindly.
"Who's your mom, kid?" I had the sudden realization I had never seen this girl before. She was bizarre and only seemed to speak when Dustin was at risk.
"She's being fostered by Will's mom," Dustin interjected. Who was this girl? Joyce wouldn't have taken her in just like that. I pushed all my previous thoughts aside and thought about the what was best for Dustin's.
"You saw what happened?" She nodded her head. "Okay... C'mon kid." I sighed. She climbed out from the bed and approached me. "Hold out your arms." She hesitated at first, but then followed through. I pulled out my cuffs and placed them on her.
"Is that necessary?" The nurse asked with a face of disgust.
"No, but it's protocol when someone is facing assault charges," I replied, discouraged he tried extra hard to be bold.
"Yes, chief." He put his head down and exited the room.
"What's your name?"
"Y/n." She mumbled.
"Alright... Follow me."
Mike's POV
Finally, it was Saturday! Today was the day we got to go see Dustin and Y/n. Will, and I entered the hallway. As we approached Dustin's room, the door opened. Out came Hopper. After Hopper slowly immersed a handcuffed Y/n. She glanced at us, her face blank and her cheeks had a bright pink flush in them.
"Y-Y/n?" I stumbled. She said nothing, but her eyes screamed. "What's going on?"
"Tell Dustin I love him..." She whispered as Hopper pulled her down the hall. She didn't seem to be afraid, she wasn't fighting... She just followed silently. It was like was like she was doing it by choice. When Dustin was injured, Six had thrown all caution to the wind. She wasn't afraid of being seen by people anymore. All that she cared about was him.
Immediately I ran to Dustin's room, Will behind me. Dustin sat in his bed with his face in his hands.
"Dust-" I started. He lifted his head, I was frozen in shock. His eyes were puffy and a tear dripped from his cheek, quickly he wiped it away. "What happened?" His breath was staggered, and he didn't hesitate to let the tears flow from his eyes.
"They took her."
Your POV
The tall man opened the door of the car, I swallowed hard and proceeded to sit down. I sat in the car and stayed silent. The man shut the door behind me and headed to the front seat. As soon as he was situated, he started the car and pulled out of the hospital parking lot. After a few minutes of silence, he tried to strike up a conversation.
"How did you meet the kids?" I glanced up to the rearview mirror. He stared intensely at me. I said nothing and looked back down at my hands. "All of the sudden your shy?" I continued my silence. Suddenly he slammed on the brakes of the car, I slid forward and hit my head on the back of his seat.
My vision blurred as I tried to look around. "You alright kid? This jackass in front of us..." His voice faded in and out. "Kid?" I was rendered unconscious. After what felt like years, slowly I peeled my eyes open. Above me stood the man, I jolted up and gasped. I felt air enter my lungs. "You alright?" I nodded my head, I felt the sudden burst of hot tears stream down my face and an immense pounding of pain in my forehead.
I began to panic. He placed both hands on my head and framed my face. With one hand he took his thumb and rubbed away the tears, with the other he pushed my hair out of my face. "It's okay, you're okay." He muttered. I jumped into his arms and wrapped my own around his neck. I sobbed and tried to breathe... After I had finally calmed down, I pulled away and kept eye contact.
"Troy did it," I said sternly.
"What?"
"Troy and his friend attacked Dustin, then they broke his ribs and cut him. I watched them do it. I swear it, they wanted him dead..."
