"Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a little while..."
~ The Princess Bride, 1987
Dustin's POV
I looked down at her, she looked so peaceful. I cried at the sight of her lifeless body. I couldn't do anything except hold her close. After a few moments, the sky opened up. The darkness faded away. The wind disappeared and the sun shined through.
"Never love anybody who treats you like you're ordinary."
~ Oscar Wilde
I looked down at her, the sunlight glistened in her h/c hair. Her skin glowed in the light. She was the most beautiful thing, I'd ever seen. As the sun shined down on us, her cold skin began to warm up. I took the wilted flower and placed it behind her ear.
"My beautiful girl..." I sobbed.
"You are the finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful person I have ever known- and even that is an understatement..."
~ F. Scott Fitzerald
I stared down at her sweet face. Everything I love about her shined through... Her warm heart, her innocence, her love for life. Each little detail about her was something I loved. I wanted to be with her forever but forever wasn't as long as I hoped.
"I would not wish any companion in the world, but you."
~ William Shakespeare
All she wanted was to protect the people she loved. Nothing more, nothing less. Brenner was right... Her love for us made her meet an unforgiving death. If I had been honest with her. If I had helped her, instead of tried to stop her, she would still be alive. I'd still get to hold her in my arms, still get to feel her cheeks brush against mine. I lost her...
"She's delightfully chaotic; a beautiful mess. Loving her is a splendid adventure..."
~ Steve Maraboli
