Tonight was the military ball and all Sofia wanted to do was sleep in, but Bea and Faith had other plans. She had promised Bea she would go with her this year and try to have fun because apparently staying in and reading a book is boring. All the girls were getting ready for the ball. Many of the girls like Faith all have a date although Bea doesn't have one as soon as she enters the party all the guys will be after her. Sofia finished doing her makeup, keeping it as simple as she could.
She put her hair up in a updo and put on a flower crown that matched with her dress. She finally wore some silver heels and waited for Bea to finish touching up her lipstick. Bea turned around and looked at her friend and smiled she knew how much Sofia hated going to these kinds of things, but at the end of the argument Bea always won.
"You my friend look very beautiful and I'm pretty sure once Adam see's you he will not be able to stop staring at you" she squealed. Sofia's eyes widened at the mention of his name. She has been thinking non-stop about him for the past two weeks. She hasn't told Bea about this because she know how much Bea would tease her. At the thought of seeing Adam again Sofia became nervous. She had no idea why she was feeling like this. He was just a soldier just like any other soldier here, but deep inside she hoped Adam Mills would be different.
In order to hide her feelings from Bea, Sofia quickly changed the subject. "You don't look bad yourself B. Once you enter through those doors all the guys will be chasing after you." Bea was dressed in a black flowy long sleeved dress that fit her body perfectly. Her hair was in curls and her smoky eye makeup made her pop out more. Yup she was definitely going to make all the boys drool over her tonight.
Bea laughed and hugged Sofia tightly. She knew this was hard for her, but she was going along to make Bea happy and that's one of the many reasons why she adored her best friend. "Come on let's go before we are late!" Bea exclaimed grabbing Sofia by the hand and pulling her out of the door.

Adam's eyes stayed locked by the door. At the last minute he had backed out into asking her to the ball and soon started to regret his decision. But as he went to his last physical therapy session he had heard some of the nurses talking and from that he heard Sofia was coming.
Now as his eyes focused on the door he finally saw her. At first he couldn't recognize her from afar, but as she got closer he knew for sure that it was her. His breathe hitched in his throat. She looked incredibly gorgeous. She smiled politely at everyone who came up to talk to her and Bea, but her eyes were roaming around the hall as if searching for someone.
Was she looking for him?
Her eyes finally stopped searching as she let out a heavy sigh.
Adam waited patiently to go meet her.

So many soldiers came up to talk them, but Sofia knew they came to talk to Bea not her. As Bea turned down every guy that asked her to dance Sofia looked at her amusingly. At last though Sam Davis came and Bea became nervous. Sofia had never seen her friend like this. Maybe he was the guy Bea had been continuously talking about. It all made sense now.
"Bea Thompson you look beautiful as always" Sam said kissing Bea's hand as a blush crept up to her cheeks. "And you must be Sofia, nice to finally meet you" Sam said shaking Sofia's hand. Sofia smiled and looked at Bea who's whole face turned red.
"If you don't mind Sofia I would like to take Bea for a dance is that alright?" Sam asked, his eyes never leaving Bea.
Sofia laughed, "of course she's all yours. I'll uh just go get something to drink."
Sofia left quickly and laughed. Sam seems like a good guy and Bea looks like she really likes him. She was happy for her friend. Her friend deserved all the happiness in the world and if Sam was going to be someone to keep her happy so be it.
Sofia reached the counter she asked the bartender for a water bottle. She never drank alcohol and never will. As Sofia drank her water her eyes continued to look for Adam, but she couldn't see him anywhere.
She sighed and glanced at her friend who was happily dancing.
But before her mind could drift back to Adam a sudden voice startled her.
"You made it."
