"SOFIA let's go get some ice cream" Bea shouted jumping on her bed. It was Monday and the girls had the day off. Sofia groaned two day's had passed since that night and at last Sofia was able to overcome her emotions. Although the pain was still etched inside her heart her grandmothers letter had brought her some solace.

"B I really just want to finish this book" she said while looking at Bea who had her hands on her hips.

"Oh come on you've been cooped up in this room for the past two days! Let's get out and get some fresh air" Bea said taking the book from Sofia's hand and setting it down on top of the dresser.

Sofia sighed in defeat "fine let's go." Bea squealed happily and gave Sofia a hug making her laugh at Bea's excitement.

So the girls walked to the cafeteria and got their ice cream cones and decided to sit outside and enjoy it. As they were discussing about Laila's upcoming birthday Bea stopped talking and blushed while looking over Sofia's shoulder. Sofia confused at her friends sudden demeanor and turned around to see Sam and Adam walking towards them.

Sofia's heart started escalating she hoped Adam wouldn't bring up anything about the other night. She took some deep breathes and assured herself that he wouldn't. So instead she was amused by Bea's change in action. Bea looked at Sofia's smirking face and gave her an angry look. Sofia laughed and suddenly heard someone clearing their throat behind her. She looked back to see Adam smiling at her as he took a seat next to her and Sam already being seated next to Bea.

"I hope we weren't interrupting anything" Sam said. Sofia looked at Bea waiting for her to answer, but saw her friend to shy to answer. Rolling her eyes Sofia smiled "no not all. We were just talking about Laila." Sam nodded and looked admirably at Bea. As Sam and Bea started talking and became lost in their own world Sofia turned to look at Adam.

He was quietly observing her. Making sure that she was doing alright. He couldn't decipher anything from her face she was good at hiding anything, but her eyes spoke for her. Adam wanted to know the secrets behind those eyes. The image of her swollen eyes and tear strained face from the other night brought a shiver down his spine. He wished she would open up to him, but she needed more time.

"Do you want to go for a walk?" Adam asked her as he got up from his chair.

Sofia nodded and looked at Bea and Sam who both looked their way.

"B you can go back to our room I'll be back in a bit" Sofia told her while pushing her chair in.

"Take your time come back whenever you want" Bea said smirking. Once again Sofia rolled her eyes as Adam led her towards the path of the beach.

They walked in silence for a few moments before they sat down on the bench again.

"Yo-You haven't told anyone about the other night have you?" Sofia asked Adam while nervously biting down her lip.

"No of course not. I made you a promise remember?" Sofia nodded and sighed in relief the tension that was boiled up inside of her finally went away.

"So..." Sofia said.

"So..." Adam repeated. Sofia laughed and looked at him "tell me about your family."

Adam smiled at the thought of his family he misses them terribly.

"Well it's just me, my mom and my little sister Lucy. My dad left us when we were really young so it's just been the three of us ever since" Adam said.

By the way Adam talked about his family Sofia admired it. "You must be really close with them huh?"

"Yeah we're really close. We're always there for another." Sofia shook her head in a understanding manner.

"Tell me about yours" Adam said.

Sofia's breathing hitched in her throat and although it has been years since the accident the nightmare still haunted.

"My parents and my little sister died about six years ago from a car accident. So it's just me" Sofia answered trying to conceal her emotions.

Adam looked at her "I'm so sorry for your loss" not wanting to cause her anymore pain Adam quickly changed the subject.

As the sun was setting Sofia got up from the bench. "I should go it's getting late thank you for telling me" Sofia told him as she smiled at him one more time. Adam nodded his head and shoved his hands in his pocket. Sofia turned around and left Adam behind in his thoughts.

Adam realized now that was one of the reasons behind her pain, but something was telling him that those eyes held more secrets.
