It was many days before Leo could head back to the forest where he met Blake. He missed his friend and practically begged his parents. Of course they knew he liked going out to the forest, but they had noticed that he was unusually eager about it now. But they took him anyway since he was far too young to be going by himself.

Leo ran out of sight as soon as his parents were settled. He couldn't wait to see his friend again. He hadn't stopped thinking about Blake since they met.

Blake of course was already at the pond. He had waited there every night since the night they met to try and see his friend again. If he didn't see him tonight then he would simply go home and try again tomorrow.

Leo ran through the forest as fast as he could, tripping over several tree roots. That didn't stop him, but it slowed him down and gave him several scrapes. He didn't care, he was determined to see his companion.

When Leo reached the pond the flame boy saw him instantly. The vampire's legs were covered in scrapes that weren't healing over very quickly.

Blake helped him to the edge of the water and grabbed his backpack. Finn had made a bag similar to his own but it looked more like a duffel bag. But it was still a good bag to carry.

The flame boy dug into it for a moment before pulling out a pack of bandages. He started to bandage the other's wounds when Leo stopped him.

"You don't have to do that, I'll heal by the time you're finished..."

"Oh... Okay..." Blake replied, leaving the few bandages he already placed on the other.

He watched in awe as the scrapes simply closed and the skin looked like it had never been touched. Blake found it fascinating that someone could heal their wounds without even trying, simply because of their genetics.

"That's pretty cool..." He admired softly, wishing his own wounds would do the same.

Leo shrugged with a soft "I guess." He didn't always think it was cool. Sometimes he wished he would stay hurt instead of being healed all the time.

Both his parents knew pain and injury before they were vampires. He was born a vampire. He didn't know those things, but actually wished that he did. It was part of childhood; getting scrapes and cuts.

"I waited for you to come back..." Blake spoke softly, looking a the other with light blue eyes.

"Sorry if I kept you waiting... I had to beg my parents to come back..." Leo apologized, hugging his friend.

The familiar sizzling sound filled the air as their skin made contact. Blake was worried that he was hurting his friend but Leo refused to let go until a few moments later. He was burnt on his sweet skin but after a few moments it looked good as new. Perhaps with Blake around Leo would learn to appreciate his vampire nature.
