Third person
While the two boys were together galavanting through the forest, the Council of the Kingdoms called for their annual meeting. It happened about once a year.
The whole point really was to check up on other kingdom's and see if any intervention was needed. Normally no kingdom would ever need help being run. The king or queen could usually handle it all by themselves.
Since the meeting was called while Leo and Blake were not home they had no knowledge of it taking place. It wasn't like either of them would really want to go anyway. They hated the meetings because they were always so boring. Nothing ever really happened there. The only thing remotely interesting that the Council covered in the last century was the debate about Leo's parent's relationship.
Unfortunately it was mandatory for them to go. Both were the next heirs to different thrones. Leo was heir to the Candy kingdom and Blake was heir to the Fire kingdom. Most would also think that Leo would be heir to the Nightosphere, but no one down there knew he existed. It was better that it remained that way. The vampire teen also didn't like the thought of the Nightosphere and would have formally renounced his throne to it in seconds.
Marshall Lee flew over the forest in his rather large demonic bat form. It terrified most but to Leo it meant something was happening. The teenager didn't like where this was going. His father normally never interrupted his time with Blake.
Once Marshall landed he morphed back to his original form in front of the two boys. They had been watching the stars together before he arrived so they quickly got up and brushed the grass from their clothes.
"Is something wrong, Dad?" Leo asked, not being sure what his father could have possibly shown up for.
"The annual meeting for the Council of the Kingdoms has been called. You know it is mandatory for you to attend with us." Marshall explained, a bored tone in his voice because he too hated the meetings.
Leo let out a soft groan of frustration. The meetings were extremely boring but it also meant that he could not spend anymore time with Blake. It was quite irritating to him.
Blake didn't despise the meetings, although he didn't particularly like them either. It took away time with his partner. He didn't care about a bunch of monarchs talking about their kingdoms. No teenager would.
"It's mandatory." Marshall said again, letting his son know that there would be no other option.
The teenager sighed, hugging his boyfriend goodbye. The meeting was in a matter of hours but it was best he leave now. It gave him time to talk to his parents about the topics that would be covered in the meeting. Leo had already predicted that they would all be boring.
Leo returned to the Candy kingdom with Marshall while Blake returned to his treehouse. They both got a long lecture about how to behave at the meeting and what would be talked about. Both boys were now dreading the next day.
