When Leo returned to his home he was surprised to see his parents awake. He figured they were probably asleep from the long night of Valentine's, but they weren't. They were still up, waiting for Leo.

"You cut it close with your timing." Marshall Lee stated, crossing his arms.

The vampire felt a small lump start to develop in his throat. He was nervous about what this type of conversation would lead to. He had to get the previous events of last night out of his mind before one of his parents creeped into his thoughts.

"I was just walking home... You spent Valentine's day with Dad, I wanted to do the same with Blake... We are a couple after all..." Leo explained, playing it off as nothing.

Gumball glanced him over a few times, not seeing anything that indicated any mischief. Their son looked normal to them, even the grass stains on his knees.

The teenager often came home with stains on him from the forest. It was a normal thing to see grass and dirt stains on his clothes or skin. The forest was a messy place and he was there all night nearly every night.

Gumball searched through his son's thoughts and didn't find anything out of the ordinary; thoughts about Blake and how he longed to see him again tonight. Those thoughts were the most common when it came to Leo's mind. It didn't surprise Gumball at all.

Marshall however wasn't so sure. Yesterday was Valentine's day after all. That's the time where couples be intimate and express their love. While he wanted his son to be happy he didn't want him getting in any trouble that would dramatically affect his life.

Marshall and Gumball were pretty young lovers, but a bit older than Leo and Blake. But even with that they still had Leo at a very young age. They wouldn't want the same for their son because they wanted him to have fun before he had to be responsible. Just the fact that he was in such a serious relationship so soon worried them.

His parents worried that he was already tying himself down. Being in a relationship takes away many freedoms that you would otherwise have. They wanted him to have memorable experiences that he could look back on, not a relationship holding him back .

In reality that's not how Leo thought at all. He loved the thought of being with Blake. He didn't want anyone else in his life in an intimate way. He didn't want to make the mistakes of fooling around with others just for fun. The only thing he wanted was Blake.

Of course no matter what Leo said Marshall would always worry for his son. Both him and Gumball would. They're parents, it's their job. They will always love and care for him, no matter what, but they also want what's best for him. That's all that any parent ever really wants for their child.

Leo wasn't worried about himself and didn't think his parents should be either. Blake treated him with nothing but love and respect. They were meant for each other.
