Time was flying by with the two on their own. Already it had been a year. They were both surprised that it would only be about another year until they could return home to their parents.

Both had begun to miss their parents during their time away. They had no contact with them in a year; twelve months; 365 days. To them it was a long time. It was the longest time either of them had been away from home.

"Isn't weird to think that it's been a year since we've gone home...?" Leo asked, stretching out his morning aches under the shade of a large tree.

"It is strange, but I think that's because we never were far from home for very long until we left... Don't worry, we'll be back right after your eighteenth birthday. Then we can live our lives wherever we want to." Blake replied, kissing his partner's cheek.

The couple was truly perfect. They were practically married already. The only thing keeping them from actually being married was a few vows and a sheet of paper.

They didn't struggle in their first year on their own like others would expect either. They had fun and kept each other happy. Blake would keep Leo out of the sun and Leo would keep Blake under his umbrella when it rained. They looked out for each other no matter what it took. That's why the year had flown by.

"Yeah. Plus we'll leave a few weeks early to get back home. It won't be too much longer..." The vampire added.

The flame boy was a bit surprised by his partner's statement. He didn't think they would need to leave that early.

"Do you really want to travel on your birthday?" He asked, making sure that his lover actually wanted to do that.

"Why not? We'd have to in order to get back home by the time my birthday's over. You're the one who said right after. And I don't mind, I like traveling."

Blake nodded and began to mentally time out how they would get home. Leo had been memorizing the way home since day one and pretty much knew the route by heart. He calculated that it would take at least three weeks to get back. If they left one week before Leo's birthday then they could arrive one week after. It seemed like good timing.

Now all the couple had to do was wait for time to pass. And that's exactly what they were doing. It's not like they had to constantly change location anymore either. They could stay put or start heading back closer whenever they wanted. It didn't seem like anyone had been searching for them for a while.

In reality that wasn't true at all. Their parents had never stopped searching for them. They would search miles a day looking for the teens. Unfortunately the couple had traveled too far too fast and that's why they weren't able to be found.

Their parents desperately wanted them back home. They would give anything to get their sons back. Little did they know that they were going to be heading home, and soon.
