Third person
"Blake, why don't you wait here...? I have a feeling you might not want to hear the next few moments with my parents..." Leo suggested, knowing that the discussion could turn at any moment.
The flame boy nodded and stayed put as the three vampires left the room and headed to another. The teenager knew this wouldn't be pretty. He never really had disobeyed his parents instructions before, so he wasn't sure what would come of the next several moments.
"Why were you late? You've never been out after your curfew before." Gumball asked, crossing his arms to let his son know that he was not by any means happy.
"I was out with Blake. It was an accident... We fell asleep watching the stars... Neither of us realized it was dawn until I started burning..." Leo explained, trying to keep this from becoming a big argument.
"Leo, being in the sun for too long can kill you... That's why we tell you to be home before dawn." Marshall added, wanting their child to be safe when he went out.
Their son let out a small sigh and nodded. He knew that his parents only wanted the best for him. And while it was an accident, he still could've gotten seriously hurt if he were in the sun for much longer.
"I'm sorry... It won't happen again... But please don't blame Blake. It wasn't his fault. He's the one who got me home so fast. Without him I would have been burning in the sun for much longer than I was..." Leo included, not wanting his parents to get the wrong idea about the type of person his friend was.
Blake was a good kid. He followed the rules and was always trying to put other's safety before his own. Taking Leo home was an example of his kind-hearted nature.
Some people thought he was a bad kid because he was the son of the Flame King. That simply wasn't true. His father wasn't a bad person either. People were just afraid of fire. They were good people who couldn't always control the abilities they didn't ask for. The whole situation was a bit unfair, but it was true.
"Alright... But you need to be home before dawn so you don't get hurt... We're only trying to keep you safe..." Gumball said, hugging the teen.
"And what about Blake? You seem pretty close with him." Marshall pointed out, flustering Leo for a few moments.
"Dad, we're just friends. He's my only friend, of course I'm going to be close with him. Don't try to make it into something it's not." Their son said after a few seconds.
His parents shrugged it off. They trusted Leo and would take his word for it if he said they were "just friends." Although they would soon come to find that Leo had developed a crush on Blake. Also that Blake had the same feelings. But for now it seemed like the two were just friends.
