Chapter 4- Life or Death

MALLORY'S P.O.V.

I wake up to the sound of a hospital room and in a chinsy blue nightgown.

"Where am I?!" I jolt up in pain.

"Mallory, it's ok, there was a fire at Freddy's, and you didn't quite make it out in time. You'll be in the hospital for a while. But I'll stay with you till you're out. We're just taking time off work for a bit, that's it." I hear a voice to find out it's Matt.

"MATT!!!" I lean over and give him a giant hug, something that I've needed for a long time, "How long have I been asleep?"

"Just three days."

"Ok good!"

There was an awkward silence until the doctor walked in.

"Good morning Mrs. Meese!"

"I'm, we're, not, just" Matt and I stumble each other to the doctor.

"'I'll be your doctor, and to introduce myself I'm Dr. Jada, and your nurse will be Haley."

"Hi Jada, soo, just one question, when will I be out of here?"

"We still don't know that quiet yet, but we do know that it should be with in a week. Just to make sure you're in tip top shape for your sketch comedy."

"Ok thank you, and by the way, we aren't yeaaaah." I burst into the conversation.

"Hm, really, even though you would be a really cute couple," Jada winked at us leaving me and Matt alone.

It was really awkward again, till Matt spoke up.

"You sure you'll be ok?"

"Yeah, why so worried?"

"I dunno. I'm just gonna go get some food, want some?"

"That would be nice."

"Ok,"Matt starts leaving the room looking back at me.

"Well are you gonna get my food or what?!" I push him away verbally.

"I'm going I'm going!"

MATT'S P.O.V.

I get down the hall to the elevator, when I see the whole cast coming out.

"Hey Matt!" Stacey walks out first, "Up to see Mal too? We heard she was awake."

"Yeah I'm gonna stay here for a while though, they have a hotel right next door. I needed some alone time away from home anyways. I haven't really been out much, specially with out my computer!"

"Ok well, have fun what ever your doing!"

"Thanks Stac, see you all in a bit."

I get in the elevator going down in silence listening to the beeps of the elevator falling from floor to floor. I arrive to the first floor and get out to see the cafe right in front of me. How ironic is this, running right into the cafe. Grabbing food I go up and pay, then heading back to Mallory's room, only thinking about her.

"Hi again!" I walk into her room handing her hospital food to her.

"Oh this looks delishous! Probably better then Ruth Chris honestly!" Still the same Mal I remember, her sarcastic self.

"Mmm I know right!" Natalie joins in also sarcastically.

We all laugh until the nurse comes into the room.

"Hello everyone! I'm going to be your friend's nurse, my name is Haley."

"Hi Haley, I'm Matt Meese."

"Ok, so you're the one who checked her in, right?"

"Oh, yeah."

"Ok good, let's get right to it then. So Miss. Everton, do you remember anything from when you were int he restaurant, who you were with and stuff like that?"

"I do remember that I was with Matt, and I believe that's all I can remember really, I'm so sorry." Mallory responds only remembering me, I think that's good, right?

"No no Mallory, it's ok, that's what happens when you black out, we've had people who have had complete memory loss, so your'e perfectly fine, trust me."

All she did was smile, her bright smile that can light up any depressing and terrible day.

Days passed with Mallory still in the hospital and myself right next door or next to her side. It only took five days for her to leave me taking her home. Jada only told me that I should stay with her for a week or so just in case. And so that's what I did for my next week.
