"Bumblekit, please step forward." Tigerstar called, the warriors seating in the clearing. Thistlekit watched as his littermate stepped forward. His mother had groomed his pelt shiny clean and Yellowkit's. Tunnelkit and Sandkit were looking excited next to them, their eyes shining.

"Bumblekit, you have reached the age of six moons and it's time you were apprenticed. From this day forward until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Bumblepaw. Your mentor will be Antpelt." She ran down to the clearing and touched noses with her mentor, the crowd cheering them on. When they had quieted back down and she was seated he beckoned Yellowkit.

"Yellowkit, you have reached six moons, and it's time you were  apprenticed. From this day forward until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Yellowpaw and your mentor shall be Talltail." She did as her littermate had done and touched noses with her mentor. Thistlekit began to stand up, believing it was his turn when he beckoned Tunnelkit.

"Tunnelkit," He began, but Thistlekit was impatient. His littermates had gone before him and now his denmates would also. "You have reached the age of six moons, and it's time your were apprenticed. From this day until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Tunnelpaw and your mentor shall be Aspentail." She squeaked, covering her mouth with her tail for a second before going to touch noses.

It must be my turn now.  Thistlekit thought, but anger was rising through him when he beckoned Sandkit instead. He watched as the light ginger tom padded closer to Tigerstar.

"You have reached six moons of age and it's time you were apprenticed. From this day on until your receive your warrior name you will be known as Sandpaw and your mentor will be Darkflower." Sandpaw sprinted to his mentor excitedly, touching noses with the she-cat. Thistlekit was finally going to get his apprentice name.

"Thistlekit, step forward." Tigerstar called to him, pride in his eyes. Thistlekit walked forward with pride and self control, trying his hardest to keep from bouncing over to his father.

"Thistlekit, you have reached the age of six moons and you are ready to be apprenticed. From this day forward until you receive your warrior name you shall be known as Thistlepaw. Your mentor shall be Dustpelt."

He ran over to the brown tom, greeting him with a touch of the nose. Dustpelt was a great warrior, and always knew the best places to hunt; though every cat knew Sandstorm was the best hunter. Dustpelt's eyes gleamed when he looked down at Thistlepaw.

"Can we go see the territory? Oh, can we hunt too? I want to practice my hunting moves!" Thistlepaw urged, running to the bramble entrance.

"Whoa, slow down. We have time to show you the territory. If there's any spare, we'll see about learning to hunt afterwords." Dustpelt purred in amusement, catching up to the eager tom. Thistlepaw wasn't just excited for the forest. He was excited to ask Dustpelt about Thunderclan. Thistlepaw wasn't around when Thunderclan was, but other cats were. Dappletail told him a new story every day at dusk, all about either what the four clans did, or Thunderclan, or even Fireheart.

When Dustpelt stepped out the the tunnel to let him pass, Thistlepaw shot into the forest. He want to see, scent, hear everything. A large oak tree loomed in front of him, getting bigger with every step he took. When he hit the roots, he sat down, admiring the view of the enormous tree.

"You shouldn't run off like that. You don't know what could have been out here." Dustpelt scolded, sitting beside him. He looked up at the great tree and sighed. "I remember when I climbed this tree."

This was it, his chance to ask about Thunderclan. He looked at him with curious eyes, a gleam sparkled from Dustpelt's.

"You were a Thunderclan cat then, right? Not a Tigerclan cat?" He meowed excitedly sheathing and unsheathing his claws into the ground excitement.
