Thistlestar sat on starry grass, stones glittered in the moonlight around him as he stared down at a pool. The sky was a red haze, the sun a half ball of fire near the earth's ground.
In the pool of clear water, an image showed Cloudtail, padding down to the moonpool. It was almost time to give him his nine lives. Leafpool padded at his side, and Hawkflight sat back at the camp as he made sure the camp was being restored. A day as deputy, but he acted like he was leader.
"Here we are." He heard Leafpool mew. In the distance hs could see the them, standing over the clear crystal-like pool of water.
"Where is everybody?" Cloudtail murmured anxiously, and he padded over quietly. He saw shapes slip from the bushes, and noticed one if them was a kittypet. He could tell by her plumpness and the lack of muscle beneath her pelt.
"Princess?" Cloudtail gasped, the urge to race to her surged through the tom, bu Bluestar stopped him with a soft but stern stare. It must be his mother, since he and Princess shared a strong look lif love and she looked much older than him, though she still had the looks of a young cat.
First, Bluestar stepped forward, giving a soft murmur before beginning the cerenony. She touched her nose to his head.
"I cannot allow you to have nine lives, Cloudtail." She meowed, and Thistlestar's eyes widened. Cloudtail was rightfully leader, why couldn't he have his lives?
"Why? Thistlestar was leader before me and he lost his last one last night! Am I not correct?" He grunted, Leafpool looking As bewildered as Cloudtail did.
"He did, matter of fact, Thistlestar, come out." Bluestar ordered, and he padded out, his tail flicking with confusion.
"You are going to give Cloudtail one life. It is all we can give him, and it should last him quite a while if he's smart." Bluestar meowed, stepping back. Eyes wide, he stepped forward.
"With this life.." He thought hard, touching his nose to the top of the tom's head. "..I give you trust. Give it to all those who you meet, even if you don't think its right." A strong power surged like energy from Thistlestar's head and straight into Cloudtail. He watched as the tom struggled stay on his paws. As he cooled, Thistlestar stepped back, watching the tom open his eyes. They were a firm blue.
"Cloudstar! Cloudstar!" He and Bluestar chanted beside Leafpool.
"Do not tell your clan about your lack of lives. They will thing something is wrong, and we cannot have a panic." Bluestar's eyes blazed as she spoke. "Cloudstar, you are going to be a turning point in Thunderclan's life."
