"Hawkflight, you have two beautiful toms." Leafpool meowed, A silver striped she-cat lying in the dark atmosphere of the nursery. Two kits lie suckling from her milk scented belly. The medicine cat stepped out, letting the newly made father inside.

"Have you thought of names?" Daisy meowed from beside her, Her belly was plump, her kits due in a moon.

"This kit's fur is thick, and his claws are sharp!" Hawkflight meowed pulling his leg out of the kits tight wrap, his eyes gleaming.

"We should wait till we know more about him, Hawkflight. He seems too quiet right now, I'm afraid he may not make it through the night." She croaked, fear in her eyes, but then she looked up to her mate, "But we could name the grey tom Jaykit, since he looks like a bluejay." Silverstripe leaned slightly, licking her kits feebly as she fell asleep. Hawkflight watched as two new figures appeared in the den opening; Dovepaw and Lionpaw.

"So the black and white kit has no name yet?" Lionpaw meowed, looking down at the two bundles of wet fur.

"For now, but the other is Jaykit. Im sure you'll meet him again once their eyes are open. For now, go tell Rileycrisp to take you and Berrypaw hunting. Brambleclaw has been too busy. Dovepaw, I'm sure Leafpool will need you in her den." The two apprentices padded out, leaving the new family. Hawkflight got to his paws and padded out, watching as Sorreltail padded back in with Cinderkit, Poppykit, and Honeykit. Squirreltail padded in soon after, three kits weaving in between her paws.

"There so young." Brambleclaw mewed as he padded over from his former patrol. Squirreltail had come home with the kits after the cold season had started with Leafpool and the three kits. It had taken the clan by surprised that she would leave so close to kitting.

"They are. What do you think about being a father? Silverstripe just had two toms, but you got your paws full with three, especially Shellkit and Dewkit. They are going to make wonderful warriors." He purred, Hollykit racing after her brothers.

"Yes. When do you think Cloudstar will come home? He and Brightheart left on that quest almost a moon ago. Surely they must be on their way home by now." Brambleclaw meowed, glancing towards the camp's gorse entrance.

"Hopefully soon. Onestar has been acting up and hunting on our land. If he doesn't stop, hes going to have a raiding party to deal with." Hawkflight growled, his blue eyes growing cold. With so many mouths to feed, he couldn't let Windclan hunt on Thunderclan land.

"Go ahead and find your apprentice. He's out hunting." Hawkflight meowed, padding away. He wanted to check on his kits and mate one last time before heading to his nest.

"They just opened their eyes, Hawkflight. Thats the earliest time I've ever known about." He looked down at his kits, the black and white tom had ice cold blue eyes. Hawkflight stared at the tom, excitement flowing through him. He couldn't wait to teach him the ways of being a leader. He was the first to open his eyes, so he must be the strongest. Jaykit looked up to him and opened his eyes as well, his a green. The kit clambered his way, but his eyes were locked on his other son.

"I can hear someone coming!" The kit squeaked, and instantly Grayfoot stuck his head in.

"Have you named them yet? I heard their both toms." He meowed, his eyes filled wirh curiosity.

"The grey kit is Jaykit, but the white and black tom is Batkit, for his superhearing! He heard you coming before you even said anything." Hawkflight's eyes shined bright.

"Yes, wonderful, handsome kits." Silverstripe purred, licking Jaykit's head.

Batkit will grow to lead this clan to the future!
