Jefferson watched over the young girl like a hawk. He was nervous since his mentor had left him in charge, he feared something might happen to her on his watch. He was currently watching her toss and turn in her sleep probably lost in a dream. He watch over her all night. He just hoped Jameson would be returning sooner than later.

Late that very same evening Jameson had been given his instructions and quickly went to check on the newborn gifted mortal. He enjoyed seeing the newborns as well as the older children he watched out for. When he arrived he peeked in on the newborn. They had named him Sebastian and he was just adorable. Jameson could also sense the boy's gifted ability. He could sense a strange radiant power. The boy would have the ability to sense evil. That could be good or bad depending on the child's chosen path. He would definetley have to keep a closer eye on this child, too.

Jameson then wondered how his apprentice guide was doing with Joline. He hoped everything was going well. He also hoped that Jefferson didn't take it upon himself to do anything incredibly stupid. Jameson stayed watching over baby Sebastian Joshua for the next day and a half. Then he left to report back to the ancestral spirits. He tried to hurry so that he could get back to Joline and Jefferson, too. He wanted to make sure nothing had gone wrong in his absence. He traveled as quickly as possible, worrying about his young friend. By the time Jameson had returned the skies had grown dark. He moon and stars had taken their rightful place for the nocturnal hours. It was a beautiful evening. Then he saw Jefferson and smiled.

"It's good to be back. How was it without me?"

"Sir, very good to see you. Everything went well, but her dreams seem to be getting more powerful. She is advancing I think."

"That's quick, most of them even powerful ones don't move this fast." Jameson commented.

"Is that a good thing?"

"We can hope so. Relax you have done just fine." Jameson reassured him.

Jefferson smiled, relieved he didn't screw anything up yet. The two of them sat in the old giant oak tree and talked about the trip. Jefferson was glad his mentor had returned, someone to talk to. It had drove him half crazy with no one to talk with for a few nights.

"So what's the boy's power?" Jefferson asked with child like curiosity.

"The boy is a dark seer." Jameson replied.

"I'm sorry sir you've lost me." Jefferson told him.

"Sorry I keep forgetting how new you are to all of this. He will be able to see evil, dark soul and beasts of the underworld, that sort of thing."

"Are you kidding me?!" Jefferson asked almost shocked that anyone would have that ability.

"No why would I joke of such a thing?" Jameson asked him.

A look of amazement spread across Jefferson's face. He didn't know before today that was an ability or anyone who possessed it. He would definetley be an interesting case. He sat there with his only friend and trainer in dead silence for a long time. He seemed to be thinking, possibly contemplating the meaning of the universe while perched in the giant oak tree. He waited for just a few more minutes before asking what had been on his mind.

"The next time you check on little Sebastian Joshua can I go with you?"

"It depends on how we do with the mortal you have been assigned to watch over. I will keep it in mind." Jameson gave him a standard rule book answer.

"If that's the case I will do my best." Jefferson replied in a serious tone.

Jameson let out a soft little chuckle as the two spirit guardians went back to keeping an eye on Joline. At that moment she was having more vivid dreams again. Just as before in the dream world she was being chased by someone or something and she couldn't see it. All she did know is in each one she was chased by an unknown enemy and feared for her life. It also bothered her that she didn't know why she was being hunted or why she kept having the reoccurring nightmare. It was always the same. It always left her in a panic stricken state, shaking long after the nightmare had ended.

Once she had regulated her breathing, she grabbed the notebook and flipped the light on. She wrote furiously, trying to get as many details down as possible before the nightmare escaped her thoughts. She sat there in bed and started to think about all of it. Then she pondered reincarnation. She had read a little about past life and reincarnation. She thought maybe the dreams could have something to do with a past life? Unsure of the whole mess, she planned to look into it after school tomorrow. She then curled into the bed and went back to bed.

The next morning she couldn't shake the feeling that this dream had a deeper meaning to it. She would look into it the moment the school day ended. She got ready quickly. The sooner she got there the sooner it would be over with. Joline didn't hate school, but like most teenagers there were other places they'd rather be. Her thoughts lingered on her dreams as she strolled into the double doors of Willow Hills high school.

She moved carefully through the over crowded halls. She did her best to avoid most of her classmates. She got to the end of the hall and took a left to her locker. She knew there would be enough time to fetch her history book and get to class. For the most part she didn't mind history class. Mr.Dickson was a decent enough teacher. He didn't nit pick too often. He was older a short fellow with light brown crew cut hair and thick wire rimmed glasses. That was until her nice history teacher announced a surprise pop quiz on the civil war. She loathed tests they brought in anxiety.

One of the few friends she had made Katie sat down next to her and smiled. Joline smiled back. She had been friends with Katie since the 5th grade, an eternity to any teenager. The two of them were complete oppisites as far as personality went. Katie had more friends and had a very outgoing style about her. Joline was more quiet and reserved. She just tried to blend in and nt draw much attention to herself. The rest of the morning seemed to drag on forever. She hated that about Fridays. It seemed as if time slowed down and the rest of the week was in a different time zone. After lunch it was her absolute favorite. Art class, just sit down and get lost in her drawings.
