As Jefferson and Jameson spent more time analyzing the growth and development of Newton, they had nearly forgotten about Joline and her over-powering gifts; that were emerging a little too quickly. Over the next few months, Jefferson couldn't believe the magic radiating from this one. He could easily manipulate objects. Thought placement and manipulation magic were mere toys to him.

It truly frightened Jefferson. This newborn soul had this much magical influence and wasn't even old enough to crawl. He just hoped it wouldn't be as horrible as he imagined, that he was over-reacting to mere possibilities. It was the only hope he had left. Newton had suddenly become a difficult situation for not only Jefferson but the elder guide as well.

They had become so distracted they had all but forgotten about Joline and her path of magic. As the weeks passed by, she felt more and more lost but couldn't understand why. Without the guides there to protect her, she became an easier target for darkness.

Over the past several days her magic began to confuse her, spinning out of control. She had started having vivid and repetitive dreams of a witch named Veronica. She known her only in the world of the dream. The witch was her same age, thin and pale with long jet black hair and a dark hint n her eyes.

Every dream was set up the same. It was somewhere else, like another world. Veronica the witch would be casting spells or making potions. Each time she'd recite a chant Joline would remember it word for word and write it down the second she woke in the night. Soon she had the dreams every single night, so she assumed they were important.

The next night when she had the dream Joline approached the witch.

"Hi." She whispered to the witch.

"Hey." Veronica replied.

"Why are you in my dream?"

The witch ignored her, stirring the cauldron for another five minutes before she spoke.

"Are you mortal?" She asked.

"Yes." Joline answered the rather odd question.

"Then our souls not physical selves know each other." She answered.

"Wow that's why I'm dreaming of you?" She asked eyes wide.

Veronica rolled her eyes then leaned closer to Joline.

"Let me make it easier for you. You can only find my world when you are in a dream state." The witch told her slowly.

Joline opened her mouth to speak when she was jerked awake before she knew it. She looked around the dark room to see she'd fallen from the bed and hit the hard floor. Almost without thinking about it she grabbed the dream book and scribbled out every detail she could remember. The dreams seemed to empower her, bringing out the inner magic that she possessed.
