                       One week later (mortal time)

As Jameson was off checking on his other gifted mortals, Jefferson did as he was told and sat in the tree watching over the girl. She was still at school for the day.  So far things seemed fine with Joline. She seemed to take to her abilities as if she'd know them for a lifetime, maybe two. It seemed she grasped more magic at sixteen than witches twice her age.

He was glad that things were going fine for the time being but he'd hoped that Jameson would return soon. Even though he was glad everything was calm, he was bored out of his ever lasting soul.

Jameson had also went to talk to Divinity, the one in charge of this latest mess. He knew she meant well. He wanted to see if she had any last minute instructions. Jefferson didn't blame him for being overly concerned with the incarnation of the dark ones.He sat there in the tree lost in a deep meditation when Jameson had eventually returned.

After a few minutes Jefferson had turned around to see Jameson sitting there next to him.

"Hello sir, good to see you've returned." He greeted the elder.

"Hi. Is the girl doing okay?" He immediately asked.

"Fine, she's still at school for now." Jefferson reminded him.

"Oh that's right." Jameson commented.

"Did you talk to Divinity?" He questioned.

"Yes I spoke with her."

"Well what did she say?" Jefferson asked dramatically.

"She said good luck and don't worry." The elder replied.

"That's all?" Jefferson asked in disbelief.

"Pretty much." He replied then looked off to the sky for a moment and back again.

"So we're on our own then?" Jefferson asked alarmed.

"I assume so." Jameson replied in a lowered tone.

Jefferson hung his head for a few minutes then looked up to his elder guide.

"How much trouble do you think this will cause the mortal world?" He asked.

"I haven't a damn clue." Jameson replied.
